whether a group is strong. Wisconsin and Berkely do not have as many papers as
NUS, but their research results/products are being used by the rest of the
community. I deeply admire those people who produce impactful work rather than
bunch of papers on topics that interest no industry people.

preferably ECON and Finance professors. (it seems to me that B-school doesn't
take the recommendation from science professors like Math or Stat too
seriously). Also it is better if they add some personal feelings in the
letters, of course it is not easy. |

我最近请了一个大牛来我这里给报告 大牛很痛快地答应了
首先 我很高兴 我的文章如果投好杂志 这个大牛几乎是我避不开的一个reviewer。
然后 这个大牛从他那里到我这里交通怎么都不方便 飞机没有 火车要转好几次 只有开
车最方便 2－3个小时单程 不过堵起车来让人很难受 于是我决定不让这个大牛做任何
事 我开车到他所在的学校去接他 给完报告再送他回去 大牛不好意思地推脱了两次就
接受了 其实任何人收到对自己尊重的表示都挺高兴的吧
接下来 在系上宣布大牛的报告 email发出去后的5分钟内 我收到系上几乎所有牛人的
电话和信 要求和此大牛会面 真是非常地震撼 我们系又不是没有见过世面 只是此牛和
我们系做的方向太接近了大家兴趣一致 我觉得非常有面子 哈哈 强大桑的面子本来不
值什么
