对英语来说，stress某种程度上可以算作phonemic level,因为英语依靠stress来区分不
同的词，不过，这个对于英语的stress是不是phonemic level也是有争议的。
放在prosodic level，stress还有其他功能，比如pragmatic function吧，
英语一般用pitch来signal重音，就是sentence level stress, or focus.
因为pitch对于中文来说，是phonemic
level的，所以中文会偏重运用duration和intensity来signal stress.
但是中文中的重音肯定是会对F0有影响的，也就是同样的字的F0
在stressed的情况下和unstressed情况下是有所不同的，但是应该是within
category的difference.

基本情况：
我父亲62岁，微胖，高血压。几年前心脏开始有不舒服的状况，胸口痛。 以前每次痛
10分钟就过去，现在每次要痛30分钟，或者几个小时。 今年三月，在北京的两家心脏
专科比较好的医院复外医院，和北大医院都查了。做了冠状动脉造影。没有查出来有任
何的心血管狭窄。带24小时心脏监视器发现有心律不齐。 也在跑步机上跑，希望能在
监控下诱发心绞痛。但是什么也没发现。最后两家医院的专家，复外医院，和北大医院
都说是冠状动脉痉挛。 现在爸爸在美国我们去看来美国这里的心脏专科。医生让做了
平板跑步机说发现运动是心电图ST Segment 低，（一般人ST segment 应该是平的）。
这预示这心脏有因为fat, 脂肪而造成的堵塞。我们问为什么在国内做的冠状动脉增强
造影没有看
到堵塞。美国医生解释说冠状动脉增强造影只能看到钙化的堵塞，而看不到由脂肪fat

when you turn that verb into the adjective form, it does generally alter
the stress pattern as well as some vowel pronunciation.
Take your word "hypnotize" for example (stress the first syllable, "O" as
the schwa vowel sound ə), its adjective form is "hypnotic" ( stress the
second syllable, "O" as the vowel sound "a").
That's also the case when you turn the verb into its noun form. For example,

如果用数值模拟，如何加上这个residual stress? 想想可以用加temperature
gradient的办法加上，不过如何match试验结果还是个问题，需要很多次的

, i went to eat alot of high fat, sugar food. It caused me to gain back
about 12 pounds. So just a friendly reminder, when you're understress, don't

发帖数: 293 | 38 上个星期跑得多了一点，觉得右小腿肌肉拉伤了一点。当时没有觉得特别痛，就接着跑
，希望它自己好起来。后来几天痛感延伸到了小腿骨后方。到星期六Long Run的时候就
感到疼得受不了了，不得不停下来。这一个星期以来就没有跑步，肌肉的疲劳和疼痛都
恢复过来了，可是右小腿骨后的痛感还有。
上网看过后，自我诊断为Stress Fracture. 主要症状是
• 痛感集中在一点
• 痛感在跑步前比较强，跑步中有所减弱，跑完后又比较强
• 即使坐着不动也会有痛感
我分析可能是右小腿肌肉拉伤后力量不够，引起小腿骨受力加大造成的。网上说Stress
Fracture完全恢复要3-6星期的时间。
3-6星期不跑步该有多难受哇！
问这里的大虾们，得过Stress Fracture吗？如何才能恢复快一些？恢复期间什么Cross
Training比较容易保持跑步的状态？ |

I am wondering if it is doable to record some lengthy, weird English words and
have both native English and native Mandarin speakers try to locate their
stresses.
The objective is to see how the prosody of the two languages affect people's
percection about stress.

My first experiment had English words read in isolation and my
Chinese subjects did a great job in identifying the stress.
Duanmu says that English stress is easy to perceive because of
the cue in F0, etc.
In my second experiment, the target weird English words are
placed at the end of short sentences and the sentences are
read in a rising intonation like yes/no questions.
This time, my subjects made many mistakes in identifying the
stress. They say that it's harder this time.

My client is based in Hamburg and are urgently looking for 2 Fatique and
Damage Tolerance Engineers for a contract starting mid April until July next
year working on the A380.
