Storyful隶属于传媒大亨默多克的新闻集团，每个人都可以将Storyful上的视频免费转发到自己的社交网络，而如果正规的新闻媒体要转发的话，就要支付上千美金的使用费。
Storyful方面通过自己的消息网联系到视频的拍摄Zdenek Gazda，火速和他谈好利益分成并获得授权，之后再和各大新闻媒体商谈使用视频的费用，在版权问题上，拥有资源的版权商占了上风。
由于有媒体甚至愿意指出数万美元的费用来获得使用权，因此Storyful依靠该视频赚的盆满钵满，而该平台的盈利也依靠一些大家都喜欢的萌娃萌宠，以这些视频，Storyful发展得很快。
如果一个人用他的手机拍下“很关键”的20秒视频，而该视频又经过Storyful平台广泛传播的话，他将获得不菲的收益，甚至改变他的一生。 |
