Calhoun出身南卡，是耶鲁1804届毕业生，当过美国副总统、国务卿、战争部长等；
1931年被用来命名耶鲁新建的七个住宿学院之一。而Calhoun近年背运连连，是因为他

政客的名声不比卖旧车的dealer好到哪里去。不要太理想化，没有绝对完美的
社会和制度，只是相对好一些而已。德国前总理科尔受贿道歉，法国前总统密
特朗还有私生女，美国的小克和实习生的故事也都家喻户晓，他们都不是圣人。
但是反过来讲，老百姓需要的是政治领袖，不是道德完人，只要他们的决策有
利于社会经济的发展，其它的并不那么重要，怕的不是私德有亏，而是决策错
误给国家社会带来灾难。民间说怕的不是当官的拿钱，而是拿了钱还不好好干
事。
水至清则无鱼，要达到理想社会除非基因工程突破把人类的大脑全部改造过来，
否则人有权力就想贪，美国比中国好一些并不是因为美国人素质高不想贪污，
而是美国制度健全各种监督和制衡使得贪污的成本太高。中国缺的就是建立这
种监督制衡机制，而不是政治思想教育。这种机制怎么形成，当然需要长期的
努力，不可能从天而降，而且这种过程肯定会有妥协、退让，光靠清高是解决
