Just got back from China. Unfortunately, sprained my ankle during a run on

It was a great pleasure to climb with you two and it was a very enjoyable
climb indeed.
Honestly I was a bit worried about not being able to finish the climb and
letting you down because of my sprained ankle, until an hour or so into the
climb on the summit day. I am glad everything worked out well.

用粘性胶皮的伤不起:不一会儿,皮上全是灰和毛(地->球->皮),粘性大减。
关于鞋,Larry Hodge 在他的 Table Tennis Steps to Success 书中写道:
You should wear rubber-soled athletic shoes with
athletic socks. Don't use running shoes; they're
not designed for the sudden side to side movements
needed in table tennis and can lead to
sprained ankles. There are specially made table
tennis shoes, but they aren't really necessary until
you reach the higher levels. Volleyball shoes are
ideal for table tennis.

At the beginning, anything will do. I suffered a severely sprained ankle in
2007, was out of running for three
months and rebuilt from zero. Since 2008 I've kept at around 40mpw on the
average, and my weekly mileage
got higher this year. Initially you improve quickly, and then you may hit a
plateau at some point and you may
need to increase the mileage. Some say that in order to improve consistently
at the marathon distance,
55mpw is required.

I would say that is very uncommon. Even with the worst running injuries I've
ever had, including stress fracture
and knee injuries, I have never been forced out of running for more than a
week (except one time I sprained
my ankle severely while playing soccer).
But I should point out that X-ray CANNOT detect stress fracture. If you
really believe that you had a stress
fracture, you need to do a bone scan which is a somewhat complicated
procedure.

来自主题: Running版 - 消炎药有用吗?
最近做功课研究消除疼痛的办法,看到下面这边文章。大意似乎是:
1)炎症是身体对抗伤痛的自然反应,是身体自我修复过程的正常症状;
2)药物消除炎症,同时也抑制了身体的自我修复过程,反而不利于伤痛的恢复;
