语教育的问题，而是孩子的发展确实在某方面滞后。
有一类语言发展延迟的孩子是早期语言发展正常，然后在两岁左右出现停滞甚至退步
（自闭娃中常见）。所以你观察你儿子的中文发展，重点要看他近期中文有没有进步或
退步，不是看他一岁时能达到什么水平。
很多时候语言延迟不是什么很严重的问题，基本上坚持做Speach Therapy就能跟上去。
有一类语言延迟有可能是其他方面比如逻辑思考发展超前的结果。这些孩子其实是聪明
娃，但他们的聪明如果不早发现开发的话，可能要到初高中才能体现出来。
我觉得姥姥带娃的方法还好。她也许本意是推，但客观结果是她在不断和孩子用中文交
流。这对孩子语言发展是有利的。说句老实话，很多做Speach Therapy的也就是这样做
。你家孩子如果中文发展没延迟，多半得谢姥姥。姥姥带娃一个要改进的地方是应该要
先吸引孩子的注意力再和娃交流，尽量在玩中游戏中交流中文，这样中文Speach
Therapy的效果更好。另外要注意孩子的情绪，不要因为过分推让孩子对交流也产生厌
烦情绪。

cup is bad for speach because it is more like a bottle. Using straw can
stimulate the musle around lips which is good for speech. Does your child
drool? My son was still drooling at 20 months. The speach therapist told
us to stop using sippy cup and within 2 weeks, he stopped drooling and
started making sounds. You can train your child starting with shorter,bigger
straw and slowly increase the difficult to a normal str |

own assessment. Your doctor's diagnose does not mean you will get insurance
company to pay for anything. If you need pre-approval to see a specialist,
you probably don't have PPO? Speach Therapy easily runs $300/hour, it also
sounded that your son has sensory issue (high pain tolerance, etc) so he
will need Occupational therapy. Early start use to pay for Speach and
Occupation therapy but they cut a lot of the fundin |

forward, you are going to need to rely on a good health insurance. I know
Cigna PPO covers ABA if you are qualified. Most of the HMO, it is uphill
battle for you to get OT, SP or ABA covered.
However, don't stress too much about the speach therapy delay. Early Start'
s ABA program is very much speach oriented and a lot of the trainning
program is about getting your child to talk.

planning like this.
Who needs individual freedoms when you can have great infrastructure? Trains
