从PRC国庆到US鬼节
1989年10月1日前夕，上海市府举办招待酒会，庆祝PRC 建国40周年。来宾中有美
国驻上海总领事。原上海复旦大学校长谢希德，在招待酒会上主动问美国总领事“我们
要作甚麽事，才能解决方励之问题？”。大使立即将谢的举动转告我们。
我们判断:“这是邓小平发出的信号，中共想要解决问题了。” 大使也持同样看法。
谢希德的学术身份，是一位物理学教授，专长于点群空间群在固体物理中的应用。
谢的政治身份，是中共中央委员。谢是从美国回归者。八十年代，她每年至少到美国一
次，代表中国物理学会参加美国物理学会年会。谢认识李和我。早在1950年代后期，谢
一度从上海来北大物理系工作，协助黄昆建立半导体研究班子，直到这时，谢才入党。
当时李淑娴也在黄昆的班子中，是一位援华的苏联半导体副教授的专业翻译。谢行事极
为谨慎，作风更像虔诚基督徒。谢不会自作主张向美国总领事询问“方励之问题”，一
定是高层授意的。

经过加强的北方集团军群拿不下列宁格勒正说明德国人低估了苏联
李布最后一次尝试之后，第3，第4装甲集群就调往中央集团军群用以加强它
也就是说这时候小胡子的全面进攻已经变成（部分）重点进攻了
也就是说巴巴罗萨计划根本不靠谱

一期的 Economist 上称呼苏联，仍然称之为 former Soviet Union，苏联都解体多少年了，这
根本不是暂时的称法，而是约定俗成后固定下来的，就像马其顿加入欧盟的正式名称是 the former
Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia（如果不这样称呼，希腊反对它加入欧盟，因为“马其顿”这个
专有名词有争议），这个和 late 不 late 根本没啥关系。 |

会议的前两个Panel分别是“The cause of the Korean War”和“The roles and
responsibilities of major states in the Korean War”。我听得云里雾里，而南渝
霜华作为专业人士，在听完报告后一针见血地指出，作为六十周年纪念性质的会议，这
基本是重新宣告各方的立场，而不是发表新的学术成果。他进一步指出，朝鲜战争中、
朝、美、韩四方，其实只有中方经历了观点的切换，其他各方其实是观点一直不变。在
