(D. Glantz, The Battle for Leningrad, Kansas Univ. Press, pp.

1)http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%8E%AB%E6%96%AF%E7%A7%91%E6%88%B0%E5%BD%B9

British and Commonwealth deliveries to the Soviet Union in late 1941 and
early 1942 would not only assist in the Soviet defense of Moscow and
subsequent counteroffensive, but also in increasing Soviet production for
the next period of the war. Substantial quantities of machine tools and raw
materials, such as aluminum and rubber, were supplied to help Soviet
industry back on its feet: 312 metal-cutting machine tools were delivered by
convoy PQ-12 alone,...

Think Again: American Decline
This time it's for real.
BY GIDEON RACHMAN | JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2011
"We've Heard All This About American Decline Before."
This time it's different. It's certainly true that America has been through
cycles of declinism in the past. Campaigning for the presidency in 1960,
John F. Kennedy complained, "American strength relative to that of the
Soviet Union has been slipping, and commun...

Japan and the US, 1977-1992
The Soviet Union again protests the Sino-Japanese treaty, saying that its
hegemony clause "is directed against the Soviet Union." Taiwan declares that
it regards the treaty as null and void, particularly noting China's
acceptance of Japan's claim on the Senkaku Islands; the U.S. welcomes the
treaty saying that it promotes Asian peace and stability. (Fac...
