朋友要我评论，我其实已经就西湖大学写过一篇文章，现在兴趣也不浓。我是希望首所
中国民办大学西湖大学办得好的，但是他们在美国招人的牛皮也吹得太大了。
这西湖大学有些事情确实做得过了，刚开张时五年超Caltech（美国加州理工）的豪言
还在记忆中，现在又来这招：在美国花巨资雇人。如果这在哈佛传递的信息是真的，西
湖雇教授是美国同级教授几倍的年薪，孩子重返美国读书的学费西湖大学包。这些条件
开得太没有边际了，反而会抑制后续的捐款热情。
我们来举个美国一流大学的例子：圣路易斯华盛顿大学的助理教授为9万美元左右的年
薪，西湖如果三倍会支付近30万美元，比有些Endowed教授（讲席）还高。如果西湖用
几倍的钱雇华大的副教授（10-15万美元）或正教授（15-20万美元), 费用更是惊人。
为什么要支付助理教授级别的年轻人这么多钱？一点不错，助理教授是人生创造性的高
峰期，很多科学大佬们的标志性成就正是在这阶段完成的，但是他们当时都不富有，却
享受完全的沒有党委管的学术自由。他们要有一定的紧迫感，因为Tenure Clock（终身
