地理只是再差的人也应该知道Pacific Northwest是靠着Pacific的吧:)，我没有具体数
据Oregon和Washington到底有多长的海岸线，再说Olympia半岛和Puget Sound也不知道
怎么算，反正这两个州南北跨度大约是600迈左右吧。说到海，大家一般的印象都是夏
威夷，佛罗里达或者南加州。西北的海岸大概不如那些地方的知名，但是却很有自己的
特色。总的概括起来，西北以及北加州的海岸更加贴近自然，更加纯朴，少一些商业气
氛。这跟这个地区的大气候是分不开的。西海岸的三个州，特别是Oregon和Washington
，都把环保事业放到比经济发展更重要的位置。上次大选，绿党在西北获得了5%左右的
选票（他们在全国只获得了<2%的选票），有人说Orego |

released by the end of the same yr, however there is not a playable demo in
TGS, it won't be surprising if there will be delays...

big this year.
What do we expect 5D Mark III to have? Much better focus system, better FPS,
higher resolution, better high ISO? These are not realistic. Canon has
never done such big improvement on the same model. Take 60d and 7D as an
example, they didn't want to improve xxD and sell it as the same price. So
they invented 7D and made 60D plastic. The same thing could happen on 5D
Mark III. |

联合利华引进了一条香皂包装生产线，结果发现这条生产线有个缺陷：常常会有盒子里
没装入香皂。总不能把空盒子卖给顾客啊，他们只得请了一个学自动化的博士后设计一
个方案来分拣空的香皂盒。博士后拉起了一个十几人的科研攻关小组，综合采用了机械
、微电子、自动化、X射线探测等技术，花了几十万，成功解决了问题。每当生产线上
有空香皂盒通过，两旁的探测器会检测到，并且驱动一只机械手把空皂盒推走。
中国南方有个乡镇企业也买了同样的生产线，老板发现这个问题后大为发火，找了个小
工来说：“你他妈给老子把这个搞定，不然你给老子爬走。”
小工很快想出了办法：他花了90块钱在生产线旁边放了一台大功率电风扇猛吹，于是空
皂盒都被吹走了。
这个故事告诉我们：
1、知识并不一定都是生产力；
2、能吹是多么的重要！ |

准备夏天之前要一个轻便的laptop，主要是文档，上网，还有一些工作上的工具（对速
度要求不高，但是这个需要把一些 pad 排除了），偶尔用一下 movie-maker，游戏基
本不玩。（所以对CPU要求不是太高，只要别太差就行了？对否？）预算在$400-700 左
右，可以根据信价比浮动。

1. Someone claimed that ASN.1 is better than XML
Now ASN.1 is essentially a primitive data declaration language. Like much
of OSI, it is large, complex, and not especially efficient. Comparing to
ASN.1, XML is much more user-friendly and efficient. For your information,
XML is a subset of SGML(something IBM developped in 1970's), the main
reason to subset SGML is for usability and efficiency.
