想请问一下什么叫substantially similar。
比如投一个proposal里写要搞某个算法应用到医疗上，同时投一个proposal写要搞个几
乎一样的算法应用到地质上？或者一个大proposal中的某个aim抽出来同时投个小
proposal？
另外我看有的NSF RFP里写不能同时投NIH，有的NSF RFP里写不能同时投NIH和NXXXX。
是说如果没明确指明funding agency，就可以同时投？

发帖数: 153 | 11 这两个问题大的issue是一样的：你没有证据，却需要证明你能做好（拿到钱，教好课
）。其实这跟其他问题是类似的：在你没有明确证据的情况下，怎么说服别人你的
research大有前途，怎么说服别人你的问题可以带来grant，等等。
这种情况下，别试图太勉强的找证据（如果说的太勉强，反而起负面作用）。也不要上
来就承认自己不成，自己是来学习的（你原来的对teaching问题的回答的思路），这样
的答案没有任何正面的作用，而且给想杀你的人明确的证据借口。
我觉得基本思路是：提出前瞻性的解决思路，而且这个思路有理有据，各方面都想到，
让人觉得你很有思路，很有理性，至于是否真的成，那是以后的事情。想法把以前做的
事情作为辅助证据一点点加进去，这样可以增加说服力，也比直接把一些弱证据作为主
要证据有用的多。
比如对拿grant，你可以谈你计划做的方向跟nsf/nih的哪些program和哪些cross-
cutting的program比较契合，和什么大方向比较match，谈为什么你比别人更能stand
out（说你的方向是个niche，比较新，senior的没做过，peer没你做的好等等），中间

我这份part time 工作算是给前老板还个人情，因为他对我确实不薄，而且基本不占用
我太多的时间，周末半天，平时2个晚上即可。
请教版上的各位大哥大姐，我需要让目前的雇主知道我的part time 工作和H1B吗。
如果告诉目前雇主，会有什么影响。不告诉的话，会有什么法律后果。我目前的工作和
