在这种地基上直接铺的sod，sod长得很不好，还有很多crabgrass，草坪被我nuke掉了
，揭开草皮，我用20几刀的人力的core aerator戳下去，经常戳到2-3inch就很难下去
了，用锄头也是经常叮叮当当敲到石块上，我查了下这种compact soil就是容易长
crabgrass，草根系长不深，还容易得病（揭开草皮的时候也发现grub了）。
我在网上发现本地有30刀/cu yard的leaf compost，算算比Home depot还便宜些，如果
要比较快速改善土质（埋有机质似乎比较慢），是不是直接让人拉一车来倒在土上铺铺
平就行了，需要和topsoil混合吗，还是说直接用tiller/cultivator翻翻地混混匀？土
加厚个1 inch应该不会影响屋子地基排水吧？ |

check your local Cooperative Extension Office or your state university's
agriculture departments to see if they provide a soil test service, or you

接上weed blocker和raised bed。今年只是小面积试验田，用不了太多土，就不打算在
local soil company买了，homedepot/lowes解决就行了。
问题是应该加什么土。已经在home depot买了garden soil，但是袋子上的说明讲要1：
1mix garden soil和native soil.可是我不打算挖地，哪里来native soil.请问各位前
辈可以用home depot买的top soil和garden soil混吗？homedepot的人推荐raised bed
的土用1：1：1garden soil:native soil:manure. 请大家看看靠谱吗？我在网上查了
很久，还是有些不太确定。请经验人士给些建议把。多谢。 |

final judge and decision maker.
My recommendation would be this:
1. Do it yourself.
2. Renovate both the front and back yards in the fall, not now.
3. Do a soil test.
4. Do soil drainage and compaction tests.
5. Amend the soil from soil test results between now and the fall. It might
be laughable to do so before planting in the fall, but eventually you'll
realize that you have the final laugh.

screw driver about 4-6 inches into the soil. If you have a hard time to do
so, then your soil may be compact. Also compacted soil may form a puddle

need to reach at least 140F to be killed. Just tilling the soil and baking
them under the sun may not reach that high a temperature. In fact, tilling
may bring up more weed seeds to the surface and may haunt you later.
Soil solarization needs to cover the soil with plastics in the hottest
months of the year and also needs 4-6 weeks to work. Afterwards, it is

还要种，让买点土和肥，去年是安邻居家买的四包top soil四包牛粪，今年我自己去买
的，发现top soil上写的是ideal for filling holes和提高地面用，我就买了garden
soil和牛粪，garden soil上写的是bigger and brighter flowers and vegetables。
买回来打开老妈偏说我买错了，原来的top soil看上去就是土，这个garden soil里面
好像还有一些经过腐烂的小树皮什么的，但是明明人家写的是种花种菜的阿，我妈说
