was charged for "medicare" and "Fed Soc Sec". What are those two items? I
understand that medicare is for >=65yr elderly, right? Should every employee
in Boston pay for that? Sorry, the question may sound stupid, but I'm new

子一样都能用10个小时。
办公功能完胜ipad，能用office，outlook，还都有配套的键盘。。打算搞一个
thinkpad tablet 2或者acer w510了。。
用来做主力电脑了，在家和办公室之间很方便，出去见客户之类的也不怕没电。。
有人买过win8的板子了吗？觉得怎么样。 |

一个CPU做10年的人，去做SoC,肯定只能做个普通工程师，而且还要学很多东西。当
头或者technical leader恐怕是门都没有的。工业界要的是立马能赚钱的人
非要说相通，那就不能指望人家不给高职位。事实也是，转个方向，没有办法坐高 |

CPU也有好的方向，比如一些pipe,译码，指令设计等，尤其是做很小的core.很有用的
SOC很多都是借口粘结，TIMING，不一定很有趣。
具体问题具体分析，不一样的 |

Application-specific integrated circuit，ASIC）。
当时的华为，创立仅仅四年，员工只有几十人，资金非常紧张，一度濒临倒闭的边缘。
奠定基业的C&C08数字程控交换机，还是三年后的事情。
这个ASIC设计中心的成立，意味着华为开始了IC设计的漫漫征途。
1993年，ASIC设计中心成功研发出华为第一块数字ASIC。
随后，分别在1996年、2000年、2003年，研发成功十万门级、百万门级、千万门级ASIC
。总的来说，每一步都算是沉稳有力。
时间到了2004年10月，这时的华为，实力已今非昔比，销售额达到462亿人民币，员工
人数也达到数万人。有了一定底气的华为，在ASIC设计中心的基础上，成立了深圳市海
思半导体有限公司，也就是我们现在经常说的——「华为海思」。
海思的英文名是HI-SILICON，其实就是HUAWEI-SILICON的缩写。SILICON，就是硅的意
