不是关键，尤其是faculty这种工作，你要有本事，做的research创新，得到同行的认
可，你会发现你不用去social，人家过来和你主动social，只要你不是说内向到不愿和
人说话，否则，最基本的social能力就够了。而且这是个反馈过程，当你和人交流足够
多，你会发现所谓的social其实挺简单。纯朴一点最终你会有你的social圈子，而且这
种靠本事挣来的social圈子更实在。
虽然你会发现，会social的人比你有优势，会忽悠，会陶瓷，所以比 你会拿grant，还
拿好多award，那又怎样，让别人做他／她擅长的事情。funding又不是只留给会social
的人，学术界的地位也不是只靠social来赢得。你有货，那么多给funding的地方，你
总能找到欣赏你的，大部分同行会鼓励支持真的学术star。自己的够了就行，能让自己

iv-tr已经改成social phobia,其实是把social anxiety也放进去了，就是说也可以是
指害怕特定的场合或特定的情况而不一定泛指．学生问的我想是现在平常日常生活使用
的social anxiety和social phobia的区别．但以前ｄｓｍsocial phobia 是叫social
anxiety disorder. 而你给的帖子解释的好像是在social anxiety disorder里面的
social anxiety.
不知道我说明白了没有．这下死翘翘了．但我觉得口语中的social anxiety只是口语，
但social phobia 是正式dsｍ disorder的术语．

widow + survived kids 在美国是可以领取social security一直到孩子成年的。
widow一份， 孩子一份。 按照硅工们的收入， 如果一方不幸离世，
配偶和未成年孩子都可以领取social security到孩子成年。
加起来大概是一个月$2400.
可惜图博士没有绿卡， 否则他的妻子孩子可以领取social security, 比他在浙大
的收入高得多。

这并非危言耸听，社安局的小册子经常提到这一点。我记得roadmap大概是这样子的：
从现在起不到10年的时间里（预计大概是2017年），socital security 的支出最终大
于social security tax的收入，那时候入不敷出，就得开始动用social security
trust fund,这种social security tax+social security trust fund一起上的局面可
以维持到2030-2040年，到那时候social security trust fund差不多耗尽。从此以后
，退休的人就只能拿原来70-80%的social security benifit。这次金融危机会加快这
一天的到来。解决方案：要么砍benifit，要么加税，要么一起上。但真正要避开这些
方案的终极解决之道是:要保证经济发展规模不断扩大，速度要大于social security支

也说过几次，faculty不同于research scientist（没有贬低后者的意思，社会角色不
同），你毕竟有代表学校的义务。假设系主任办个活动，手下一帮老师都不善言辞，闷
声发大财，即使个个研究都很出色，也不太好是不是？
我刚工作不久，原先的博导博后导都拼命在想他们都在这附近认识谁谁谁，我也都听话
的去和人家联系见面参观吃了饭。不要老想成抱大腿什么的，人家是前辈，我们放低姿
态，多向人家学习一下，不是应该的吗？没有丢人的地方。比如隔壁的W校，人家是一
早establish了，但也很高兴认识我，因为他们在办个xx中心，我这边当个联系人帮他
们宣传一下。有没有实际好处先不说，谁的好处大不说，大家都是干这行，有这个“义
务”为当地的活动出力。同样，你在一个地方干，熟悉你的同系同事，稍微认识一下不
是同事但有共同兴趣的同行，都是一个faculty应该做的。不做这行，当医生，也应该
互相认识一下，可以把病人refer到合适的地方。

坐下来开始和你想要social的人胡扯
连扯几个小时 不就social了吗。
只要有beer，让老外坐下来几个小时太容易。
不过我觉得social应该有个原则，我只和我自己喜欢的人（一般都是性格原因）social
，这样自己也enjoy。
有不少人我是看一眼就喜欢的。也有很多人是看了并不喜欢的。
硬着头皮和自己不喜欢的人social，划不来。 |

62岁早退，1960年出生的人 66岁为正常退休年龄，1960年后出生的人的正常退休年龄
为67岁，晚退的年龄是70岁。
正常年龄退休的SSI 是100%， 62岁早退的SSI是正常年龄退休的 75%，70岁晚退休的
SSI是正常退休的132%。
如果你在62岁就开始拿正常年龄退休的SSI的75%，但是你还在工作，那不好意思，你的
年工资收入的超一定部分的50%是要交换给国税局的。如果你是这种情况，建议可以在
12个月内向social Security Office 提出申诉，把之前拿的SSI还回去，继续工作到66
岁再开始拿正常的SSI。
SSI的提领策略有一个是：
如果夫妻双方结婚10年或十年以上。工资高的一方，到达了正常退休年龄（66岁），并且
他的SSI的50%要高于工资低的配偶的SSI。
而工资低的一方超过（62）工资高的一方可以先File他的social Security 然后马上
Suspend,等到70岁再开始拿132%的SSI。这样工资低的一方就可以在62岁开始拿工资高
