Sunday night more than 250 cots were in use.
The town opened the shelter at 7 p.m. Saturday night to provide a warm place
for residents who had lost power or been forced from their homes by the
October snowstorm. Hot showers are available in the locker rooms and
residents are being provided with military-style cots, which they can set up
in individual classrooms for more privacy.

万里无云的大晴天，昨天的snowstorm和狂风都过去了。窗外一片耀眼的白，对面屋檐
上是一尺来厚的积雪。这样的天气要不滑雪可真对不起开车800多迈来此的自己。 一行
人匆匆收拾停当，直奔最近的powder mountain。
Powder mountain离我们住的Wolf Creek 只有七八迈的距离，沿着158开到头就是他家
的parking lot。 路上显然已经撒过盐，积雪已被前边的车子碾平，开车并没有难度。
比昨晚小心翼翼的蹭下山回家，真是不能相比。也就十来分钟就到了。路上看到两位
snowboarders，看样子刚从坡上树丛中划到马路边，伸着大拇指要找ride上山。嘿，这
倒是个不错的主意，hitch hike上山，fresh powder滑下，连lift ticket都省了。 俺
们车子已经满员，不可能载他俩了。再说自己水平也不敢在树丛中随便穿梭，还是老老
实实买票吧。

下班，今天4点就出来了。谁知道8公里开了2.5小时。
中间有一段上坡，巨考验技术，车子这么多，不可能加速，
不加速就往坡低滑，只好摇摇晃晃着上去，往哪个方向都打滑，

清晨两点出发，我和Xman驱车到公共猎场和D3汇合。一路夜色蒙蒙，本来应该是月圆，
可惜附近有snowstorm，所以云层很厚。温度27F，风向3-4mph, NE。回想自从去年，我
已经打了八天鹿，只看到一次鹿影，还没有shot window，不知道能不能在年底late
season有最后收获。
五点钟猎场开门，一共只有六七辆车，我暗自庆幸不需要抽奖。上一次就是人太多，没
抽到白跑一趟，也许今天是我的吉祥日？
十分钟领到列号，把三个树挂绑在两辆推鹿车上，D3，Xman 和我三人准备就绪，就赶
着上路了。目的地约一个半英里，我已经熟记心中。这地方上次D3打到一只6pointer，
还看到四只，我以前在附近丘头也看到三只，应该是块宝地。地形呈日文＂コ＂形，溪
沿着＂コ＂从左下角由西向东，再左转上由南行北，最后左转回来从东向西。中间是高
草地，小溪周围是密林，＂コ＂字外是若干丘堆和丘谷，都有很密的灌木和树林。高地
到小溪落差大约30尺，丘顶到小溪落差约50尺，＂コ＂字东西宽约400码，南北约200码。

中午：两片全麦面包，一杯酸奶，一根香蕉
下午：十几颗葡萄
晚上：一碗米饭，一小份红椒炒鸡肉，一小份西兰花，一个煎蛋，一些炒香干，一些蔬
菜mix
总结：晚上吃多了，今天snowstorm，突然打乱了生活规律。发现如果不用去学校的话
就很容易不按照自己的安排吃。要狠狠批评一下自己。以后要注意克服这方面的问题 |

发帖数: 3323 | 26 本来计划的VT ski trip因为暴风雪去不成了，想着就去NJ的Mountain Creek玩玩吧，
于是早上6点起床，吃早饭，7点出门，刨车，刨了半个小时，终于刨出来了，高高兴兴
地上路了。
到了雪场，艾玛，人那叫一个多， 买票租器具的队好长，不过这个雪场全自动化，速
度还不算慢。一切弄好后直奔蓝道，上去了才发现，这哪是雪场，这整个一I95高速公
路，前后左右人头攒动，而且全是新手，满地打滚的，栽沟里的，比比皆是。而且新手
还喜欢彪速度，一会一个人从身后蹭得根超车一样过去了，一会一个人从背后逛荡撞一
下。姐还不想被撞成脑震荡，于是决定就去绿道玩玩吧。
绿道问题又来了，四个人挤一个lift， 下lift的时候snowboarder们争相恐后的翻跟头
，姐又被撞了一个跟头，屁股搁在了板子上，差点摔残了，摔得姐躺在地上嚎了半天才
爬起来。大大打消了积极性。
吃过午饭，发现，咦，这里黑道不错，这个山小，黑道还没有killington的蓝道陡，而
且人少，终于发现新大陆了。于是上黑道，结果，虽然这么大一个snowstorm， 黑道还
是该有冰有冰，该有土包有土包，害得姐每次滑过土包的时候都摔... 阅读全帖 |

This is my first race report and first half marathon. I started running
less than half a year ago. I was >220lbs, my doctor told me that I was
obese and I need to lose weight. I blamed busy work schedule for not
exercising until a guy shattered my excuses. He managed his busy schedule
by getting up at 4:00 AM.
I started running for 20 minutes and less than 2 miles last July. Thanks to
my friend I discovered this forum where I learned a lot. I have never run

我也从来没见过这么好的雪。
第一天11点才坐上lift。滑了一次蓝道就开始风雪交加，有几个lift closed了。
我们傻呵呵地下山吃饭，再回到山上都三点多了。一天也没滑得几次，给冻得
够呛。风吹着雪打在脸上象有针在扎。
第二天爽呆了，8点起床，10点上到山顶，一直玩到下午4点40，几乎最后下的山。
回到house就觉得眼睛生疼。可惜heavenly的黑道基本上还没有开。
第三天一上来就碰上snowstorm。比起这第三天，那头一天的风雪算个P啊。雪大
得争不开眼，墨镜全是雾什么也看不见，冰水混合物顺着脖子往衣服里面流。我
觉得我都挺不住了。不过作为半瓶子醋的师傅，还有带徒儿的义务，所以硬撑过来了。
下午基本放晴，於是丢下徒弟们不管，去了黑道。不幸给徒弟们看到几个师傅
颤颤微微在黑道上往下爬。
回到house里，搞了一杯橙汁副特加，冰天雪地里泡Jacuzzi，爽得不行，可是一出来
就基本上立扑了。一直晕到第二天下午。
今天觉得嘴唇干，脸干，头发干皮肤干。累到不是很累，就是觉得整个人缺水。 |

The Spanky's ladder was a looky. But you have to walk all the way up there.
I took the showcase T-bar, thinking that the highest trail may also be the
best trail. It disappointed me badly.
I have to agree that snow in whistler gets really wild. We got a snowstorm
a day before we left. And that was all we need.
One thing I forgot to mention in my post. We passed by an ice c |

around in the snow with my friend's dogs... To protest against the elements
I wore a pair of decent looking "North Face" ski pants I bought from China.
The material looks sturdy enough...
Then my dog jumped up and her claw went down the ski pants... and went
slashing through it like it was nothing. I guess the cold made this crap
material very brittle.
The moral of the story is: Don't buy fake ski pants from China |

10. Visit your local butcher and pay $30 to sit in the walk-in freezer for
half an hour. Afterwards, burn two $50 dollar bills to warm up.

my second or third time driving in big snowstorms. The visibility was very
low, and the Chain Low was enforced (but I still left the snow chains in the
trunk). Finally ... after 3-ish hours of tough driving, I arrived the
rental car place and returned the car.
