The day was very very powder on the slopes with fresh snow all day (it was
actually snowing). The body position is a lot more backward when compared
to traditional skis. And your quad muscles are consistently engaged. It's
a lot easier to control on steeper slope due to the shorter lengths. And
the lighter weight as makes is that much better on a powder day. Personally

. and you can turn 360 in them while going down the slope :-)
the one downside is that, b/c of how short they are, you cannot lean as
forward as you usually would with long skis. Thus, your quad muscles are
constantly engaged while snowblading. I get burned out much faster in
blades than in skis... |

发帖数: 629 | 9 the name "snowblades" is actually a trademark from saloman, and in its
original form, you are correct that it does not have binding. Instead, it
hooks to your skiboots and then there is a leash that you wrap around your
lower leg.
However, in its modern and modified form, you can buy blades that have ski
bindings. It's safer this way I believe, as the blades will release, like
normal skis would, with proper bindings whereas the original form will not
release at all.

Snowblade is the trademark name of Salomon's little "skis." They are about
half the size of standard alpine skis, and are meant to be used without
poles.
Snowbladers generally take up the activity as a alternative to alpine skiing
. Because they are so short, snowblades do not work well in powder,
requiring the rider to keep their weight very far back, but are easily
maneuverable on more firmly packed snow, slush , or ice, unlike snowboards.

发帖数: 629 | 18 snow was very very good, and since it's the last week of the season,
everything is slow, no lift line, no line in restaurants, no reservation
needed at even the most popular places! it was wonderful.
the locals told us that the week was been one of the best weeks for the
whole season! We had 2 really reallly deep powder days and the rest are also
very good with nice groomed runs.
For those who don't know, the only reason JH ends its season first Sunday in
April is due to National Forest regulat |

发帖数: 1371 | 22 或者叫snowblades 或者叫skiboards，其实就是很短（一般一米以下）的ski，一般用
不可release的binding
确实比较灵活，转起来很容易，比如我刚上手就可以在绿道上用连续转圈的方式滑直到
头晕。
但是比起长的ski来说，确实太不稳了，速度稍快就很容易感觉到在晃动，腿上必须用
更大的力道来稳住。所以在稍陡的地方，比如蓝道，为了控制速度就不得不用更大的频
率做转向动作，比普通ski要累，不知道在黑道啥的地方滑会咋样。还有一个坏处就是
因为刃太短，所以急停比较困难，真要遇到啥了就会有点难办。
当然，比较轻也是一个好处，坐没有踏脚装置的lift的时候要舒服一些。 |
