actually a pretty fun area w/ night life. Easy access to downtown, museum
district, rice or tmc. Won't say it's decent, but I think it's a pretty safe
area to walk around even in the evenings.
I think the second area, if you're talking about east of San Jacinto, is
good. West of San Jacinto, the closer to 288 the sloppier it gets.

(haven't timed myself yet), but it sure feels like I'm doing more work
in the water and surprisingly my body can actually sustain it, so it
seems beneficial from a workout point of view at least.
