大节日要到了，来欣赏一下我家娃们最喜欢的歌曲吧（这盘CD里头都有的,可惜youtube
没有Susie Tallman的版本），
Christmas Carol可不止Jingel Bells哦。
觉得最难唱的是Frosty the Snowman因为太快啦，还有Mr. Grinch词儿太多啦，上个月
刚刚练了Jolly Old St. Nicolas勉强跟上。至于其他歌，难度都不是很大，挺容易跟
唱的。

这个就是个屌丝奋斗史啊，可怜的鲁道夫从小受到大家嘲笑，被排斥在众人之外。
可是突然在大雾的圣诞爷，圣诞老人选中了他作为鹿队的领导，然后其他鹿们也众星捧
月，鲁道夫从此载入史册啦！我从小就听过这个调子，感觉挺活泼幽默的。直到有了娃
以后去了一次Christmas Carol的活动才知道原来是这么有名的鲁道夫故事呢。

刚过了圣诞节，想起一个好玩的地方。家里要是有小孩子迷《Polar Express》的话，
可以去Bryson City坐Polar Express。火车从Bryson City车站开到“North Pole”，
到了北极，Santa会上来，跟每个小孩答话，还会送每个小孩子一个sleigh bell。全程
给小孩子提供hot cocoa and cookies，跟书里一样。

补充说两句：Bryson City在Asheville旁边，一般是full day event,一去一天。最好

记得costco类似Queen size的sleigh bed,大概只要599刀。去掉材料费手工费也挣不了
几个钱。可如果定高了买方有觉得亏了。所以是个矛盾。
这种定制的最好是做那种米国家具店买不到的款式，比如中式茶几，沙发啥的。或者中
式硬板床。
这里哪位财主家要整个中式雕花大床啥的，可以上了。 |

JINGLE BELLS.
“叮叮当，叮叮当，铃儿响叮当”，第一次在国内的大街上听到这首歌的中文版时，我
就喜欢上了它。虽然在国内不过圣诞节，可是听着这欢快的童音，想象着小孩子们坐在
雪橇上，快乐的穿过田野奔向远方的画面，
我就象走进了一个童话世界，童话世界里孩子们在欢乐的唱歌，在尽情的玩耍，童话世
界里的我忘却了所有的烦恼和不快。第一次听英文版的“jingle bells”时，英语听力
很差的我，只听懂了高潮部分的这几句，不过这丝毫不影响这首歌的欢快的曲调扫除我
心里的阴霾。再后来在大学里，这首歌听得多了些，都能听懂了，可是记不住歌词，唱
不了完整的。直到来美国后，结婚生子，孩子都长大了会唱这首歌了，一定让我跟他一
块唱，我才学会了这首歌。
我虽然喜欢这首歌，可是我从没有去了解这首歌的历史，我甚至不知道这首歌的作曲作
词者。我去看了维基百科，这首歌是James Lord Pierpont写的，在1857年秋最初的歌

我很满意。这与几年前刚用上iphone的感觉类似，觉得技术革新真是改变人类生活的
好东西。保护眼睛，不用常充电，小巧易携带，这些优点都逐渐体会到了。我一开始也
下载了不少中文书(www.shucang.com)和版权过期的经典外文书，小拼字游戏(amazon)
等等。弄了几十本以后，就觉得太值了。 但是, 拥有了书不等于就会去读---对我来说
，免费的陈列性新书不容易看进去；而以前看过的书，我感觉用kindle查找也不方便。
kindle翻页比较慢，这对我寻找需要的段落很不力： 我一般只是记得大致章节和内容
，用kindle没法快速翻阅到材料的位置。
我倒是一直有逛书店的习惯--或是连锁大店如B&N，或是小门面的专业及二手书店，这
些都是消磨个把小时的好地方。大店可以喝茶休息，翻翻新书；小店有不少寻觅偶遇的
乐趣。 另外，书店多半有点人世的嘈杂，时人当下的趣味。对我来说，它们是比令人
昏昏欲睡的图书馆更好的休闲去处。 有了kindle之后，去书店更有趣了。以前在新书
