针对至少数万人的要求，白宫终于回复了！通篇避重就轻，有如媒体巨鳄abc的官方发
言人，令人无语。
一位三番群的朋友对信件内容总结如下：下午4:35收到白宫请愿网站(或称白宫民政局
，或白宫包子铺)的email，是回复关于10月16日美国广播公司辱华言论的请愿，说人家
已经道歉啦，也采取措施啦，美宪第一修正案保护言论自由，即使该言论惹人不快; 联
邦政府不能逼迫abc取消该节目; 若不满意，可以去联邦通讯委员会fcc抱屈，他们管电
波，不受白宫左右，云云。
一位朋友说：看了这个声明只想骂娘。鸡毛之事和中国的 peaceful rise 风马牛不相
及，把两个事挂钩，用心险恶。大家要苦练内功，从基层发动更多亚裔选民和政客，反
种族歧视之斗争任重道远。

去年10月19日，华人华侨在白宫网站发起请愿，要求“请立即掐掉那档节目并发布正式
道歉”（“Please immediately cut the show and issue a formal apology.”。其
中并没有要求开除吉米的内容，英文全文见附录）
这个请求并没有明确说明要求谁掐掉节目并道歉，不过可以理解为是要求白宫（美国联
邦政府）这么做。
近日，美国白宫就此作出了回应。
第一段，讲述了道歉的要求早已经被实现，而且ABC电视台已经修改了这档节目（永久
性地取消肇事的“儿童圆桌会议”）。
第二段，重申了去年在回应中央电视台时白宫发言人的声明，就是美国政府认为吉米鸡
毛秀中出现的言论不代表美国对中国的主流看法。也重申了美国乐意看到中国和平崛起
的观点。这段也相当于回应了白宫无需为自己不认同的言论道歉的立场。
第三段，回应了“掐掉那个节目”的要求。那档什么节目？“儿童圆桌会议”早就被
ABC电视台取消了，显然无需再取消一次。第二种可能，那档节目指的是吉米鸡毛秀节
目。

ABC不用理会普通观众，但无法将联邦政府调查员拒之门外。现在的电视节目大多是有
剧本的，Federal Communications Commission (FCC)有必要调查 Kill Everyone In
China 这句台词的用意。大多数人认为这句话有严重的种族歧视 (racial
discrimination) 及煽动性。
FCC在接到观众投诉后会进行调查，比如 2004年的 Janet Jackson Wardrobe
Malfunction 导致了50万件投诉。如果调查结果认为违规，FCC会处以罚款。

今天我从早上就开始憋着一股气，因为在上班的途中，我拜读了闾丘露薇女士关于
在美华人抗议ABC和节目主持人Jimmy Kimmel活动的大作《他们该如何面对歧视》。在
这篇文章里闾丘女士惊人地推论：“任何有官方的影子在背后的集会，人数越多，越会
让公众，尤其是媒体产生警惕和抗拒。为什么？因为那不是在行使公民的权利，而是在
做政府的吹鼓手。”
