亚太研发集团(ARD)的同事们：
正是13年前的那个金秋，我在伊利诺伊大学香槟校区(Urbana-Champaign)遇见了亚
勤，我们两人当时在IEEE专题讨论会上发言。亚勤对我说，他有意加盟微软创办北京微
软亚洲研究院(MSR)。两个月以后，在加盟微软亚洲研究院后首次回美国之旅中，亚勤
拜访了我在硅谷的家。在将家中所有葡萄酒喝光以后，亚勤开始劝我加盟。接下来的故
事想必大家都知道了，我与大家在微软中国共同度过了12年美好的时光。
近13年过去了，我对当初加入这个伟大的公司，重返中国的决定没有任何的遗憾。
我们从零开始，一步步将亚太研发集团(ARD)打造成为一个具有2500人的团队，工作涉

近日，国际电气与电子工程师学会（IEEE, The Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers）公布了2011年新当选的学会会士(IEEE Fellow)，全球共有
321人获此殊荣，其中华人学者共52名（下表）。
IEEE的会士级别是由该组织董事会授予对某些相关领域具有杰出成就的个人。每年新增
的会士不超过总会员数的千分之一。作为会员的最高级别，IEEE会士在学术科技界被认
定为权威的荣誉和重要的职业成就。
