一、 SDH为骨干传输铺路
我们知道，光纤具有高带宽、传输距离远等优点，光纤已成为电信厂商骨干网的主要物理连接媒介，
不过，如果仅凭单纯的光缆连接，并不能构成担负各种复杂应用的传输网。骨干传输需要由复杂的
传输协议来支撑，并借助光纤作为物理媒介。
早期的解决方案是准同步系列（PDH）。但是，PDH是异步复接，在任一网络节点上接入接出低速支
路信号都要在该节点上进行复接、码变换、码速调整、定时、扰码、解扰码等过程，并且PDH只规定
了电接口，对线路系统和光接口没有统一规定，无法实现全球信息网的建立。因此从目前状况来看，
大多数骨干传输网的解决方案正从PDH转向同步光纤网络/同步数字系列（Synchronous
Optical Networking/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy，SON |

北电是第一家搞出10G SDH光传输的。当时其他家还都在2.5G。赶上互联网泡沫，
infrastructure大发展，北电2000年一人吃掉了90%的10G光传输市场。
关键技术硬件技术缺乏不是华为的问题，是整个中国的问题。不过好在当时华为趁着互
联网泡沫崩溃来抄了一把底，收购了一个叫OPTIMIGHT的公司，获得了10G及后续40G
DWDM的核心技术。再加上中国人能迅速把技术变成产品的能力，华为迅速推出10G平台
。于此同时北电正在趟床上数钱。等到华为等其他厂商在40G平台上比拼的时候北电仍
然没有那得出手的产品。
再后来就是一系列的决策失误，07年北电发现自己已经错过3G的蛋糕，竟然把身家性命
全部压在4G上面。但是当年甚至连3G都还没有规模建设。再加上管理层为了糊弄投资者
开始做假账，虚构收入和利润。最后把公司搞垮。
个人以为北电一直是任正非眼里的一个反面影子。这个曾经仰视都够不到的巨人最终倒
在自己脚下的时候，他深知如果公司里的员工一夜暴富，当员工不用拼命工作，那华为
离垮也不远了。

two thumbs up，问我将来考虑一下要不要做NICU的fellowship。我说您一定要告诉xx
（那个每天都要臭骂我的fellow）。他笑了笑说，他呀，你就反着听就好了。如果他说
他恨你，其实他是喜欢你。
闲话少说，介绍一下NICU。各个医院的差别很大，有的是Neurology在run，有的是
neurosurgery在run。总而言之，和neurosurgery打交道是少不了的。我们这里的
neurosurgical residents/attendings都非常nice。我到算是急脾气的了（一半原因也
是那个fellow气的），一次我还被误认为是neurosurgical resident，当时真是有点不
好意思。:P
大家都是直来直去的，有事当面直说。记得有一次我和那个fellow吵了一架。过后想想
实在是不应该，第二天和他道歉，轮到他丈二，说有什么事情值得道歉嘛？
