Ranch is an area no research intuition there. The Scripps Research
Institute, TSRI, is a private research institute (www.scripps.edu). There
is also a Florida TSRI. Scripps Institute of Oceanography is part of UCSD
and has nothing to do with TSRI. Tons of hospitals are called Scripps.
There is a also a Scripps College which is a liberal art school with no
graduate program; not association with TSRI either. |

我想请问：
一，rancho bernardo，poway以及scripps ranch这三个区的学区到底哪个更好一些呢
？因为我看大家谈的很多的是说rancho bernardo high school挺好的，poway high
school也挺好的，但是我在redfin网站上查rancho bernardo92128这个区的房子大部分
是小学9分，中学8分，高中8分，而poway92064这个区的房子大部分是小学8分，中学8
分，高中9分，scripps ranch92131这个区的房子大部分都是小学9分，中学9分，高中9
分，我就比较困惑了，既然是这样，可是我看帖子里貌似大家没有特别提到过scripps
ranch这个区的学区好呢？那到底这三个区哪个学区要更好一点呢？
二，我查学校的人种分布，貌似scripps ranch的西班牙拉丁裔很多，甚至达到了85%以
上，那这是说明这个区的墨西哥人很多吗？

应该有不少scripps的博士，博后，想问问关于scripps的老板，哪个老板比较nice些。
至少不变态。一般好好干活，不至于对你进行人身上的攻击的，这个算是个底线吧。可
能说变态的不好，大家给我推荐几个人品好的，对PhD学生比较nice的，还有不想读个6
，7年的。
还有一个事想请教大家的是，大家觉得做total synthesis好（KCN，Baran,Boger etc.
)，还是做点偏生物医学方面(Schultz, Cravetts etc.)的东西好。如果以后想去
industry的话。
另外一个事就是Scripps周围有什么合适1st year graduate student住的apartment，
推荐一两个，2+1或者2+1.5或者2+2的类型的。 |

interview, so I am not really familiar with the hospital and the city that
much.
I need more information from people working in Scripps/ or living in La
Jolla to help me make the desicion. My main concern is the pay, which is
about $11/hr lower than another offer from a smaller hospital in north LA
county. In term of the "location" and "reputation", Scripps is much better,

妇幼的部门，应该不会坏。反正两个条件差不多，当然选近的啦。 我觉得医院离家近
还是挺重要的。 产期临近的时候说不定有多少次false alarm 呢。还有，到时候老公
回家拿东西，煮汤也方便很多啊。
ob 要靠自己选，我相信Scripps和sharp肯定都有好医生的。我认识的OB在Scripps，如

朋友推荐Dancy&Company，稍微远了点
昨天去了Dance To EvOLvE的trial class，这个公司的课都在社区公园的recreation
center上课，可能是房子结构的原因，加上老师声音很大，听着很呱噪，陪了45分钟下
来，我有点头疼烦躁。至于跳得如何，没去过别的地方，不会比较
还google出两家
scripps performing arts，9920 Scripps Lake Drive，离得很近，但只收3.5岁以上
的，有娃娃在这儿玩吗？要的话等大点了去这儿玩
还有Scripps Dance Center，12840 Danielson Court，也不远，位置比较偏，Costco
附近，有娃娃在这儿玩吗？推荐不？

868，rancho bernardo high school的API是866，westview high school的API是869，
Torrey Pines High school的API是895，这几所都是大家众所周知的好高中，另人意外
的是scripps ranch high school的API是914，因为我看之前大家发的帖子里提到
scripps ranch high 是要比我以上提到的那几所高中差一些的学校，可是2013年的API
这么高，是因为他近两年变强了吗？还是说我的信息有误，scripps ranch high本来就
很强？是否有高人给予解惑，感谢！ |

grant
which he is in charge of. Yea, it is probably not enough at Scripps. You
need at least 2 to 3 R01. I just look at NIH reporter. Personally, I never
think chemist will fit Scripps well because it is hard to get a R01 for a
pure chemist. Good thing that Pfizer took the bait and replaced the Skaggs
money.
Yup, it is also Scripps' tradition that if you drive a too good of a car

in hard money institution. My former adviser had 3R01, 1 R21, and DoD funds
and still don't get any respect at Scripps considering he has been at
Scripps for over 30 years with minimum of 2R01 throughout.
PS. I'm looking for fresh organic syn. chem post-doc...37-42K! :_

找apartment先要看你的重点在哪?如果你想找条件好又离scripps近但不在乎价钱的话
就在jupiter找好了.那里的房子都很贵,我当时看了好几个最后还是决定放弃.
我们现在住在palm beach gardens,这里离scripps有7个迈左右,我老公每天开车到
scipps差不多15-20分钟左右.这里的价钱相对jupiter要便宜一些,还有就是买东西很方
便,周围的shopping mall and supermarket很多.还有一点是这里应该还算治安比较好
一点的吧,这一点不太清楚因为我们也刚刚搬来俩个月而已.
网上的我来之前也找了一些,虽然很多但只能做参考,还要自己亲自去看才知道怎么样.
不知道你还想知道些什么?如果有任何问题尽管问好了,只要我知道的. |

（距离我家，上班都不近）。不知道他家的ob诊所在那里。家庭医生告诉我，等到有了
好消息在给我推荐一个。
我上班在old town附近，所以离sharp那个产院很近，但是不知道好的医生，听说很多
男ob.
这里的热心jm多，请大家介绍一下经验，那边的医生好些，医院好些。
就我个人感觉，scripps memorial的医生要比sharp的细心和nice，但是好像sharp的条
件要新。其实主要问题是，sharp有没有好的ob推荐！

发帖数: 745 | 32 昨天去了Hillcrest hospital(UCSD Medical Center)的maternity tour，show给大家的病房都是一人一间的。我问产后休息的房间是private还是semi-private，回答说有的房间有两个病床，当安排不过来时，有可能会两个病人share一个房间。今天听到office mate说她生的时候就是两个病人一个房间。并且她说那里老墨生孩子的很多，照顾不过来。
这周末要去Scripps Memorial La Jolla。现在流感季节，都没有tour，只在教室里给
大家讲解一下。我听说所有的产后休息房间都是private的。但也有朋友抱怨那里设备
老，条件不好。貌似大家在哪里生都会不满。
两个的位置比较，Scripps Memorial离我家更近，我们对那边也比较熟。另外我十有八
九是剖腹产。不知道大家能不能提供点建议，选哪个医院更好？谢谢！ |

我的OB有问我做不做,我主要是想看看宝宝,所以就做了.
我的大B超也是在OB OFFICE做的,时而是黑色的,时而是黄色的(三维).
我们本来也看不太明白,不过B超师都一一解释. 如果没有什么问题的话,应该不会REFER
到专门的B超室吧?
如果周数不大,又不喜欢OB的话,就换一个吧.
生大宝宝的时候我也只做了15-18周那个AFP SCREENING和20周的大B超.
我是在Scripps La Jolla看OB的,不知道我们的OB是不是同一个人.
那些检查他一开始有给我一张PAPER,上面有所有选做和必做的检查,让我觉得选做的要
不要做.
相反我怀大宝宝的时候在SHARP,他们只给我提了AFP,我那个时候都不知道有12周的NT
SCREENING,16周的时候才转去SCRIPPS. |

室友分担房租，如果要大一点的
master bedroom 800， 小一点的卫生间分开的bedroom 700。
Costa Verde的房子都很新很宽敞明亮，房内有自己的洗衣机和烘干机，有两个
室内停车位，小区有免费的gym和游泳
池。离UTC很近，购物非常方便。离UCSD校巴车站和101（去scripps的公交）都很近。
本人是Scripps PhD学生（男），平时大部分时间都在实验室，晚上回来也很安
静，很少做饭。希望找一个不抽烟，讲

本人一家三口正在等签证，11月初去scripps做博士后，请问怎么找房子？目前还没有
驾照，所以住的地方最好是离scripps近点儿。
女儿3岁半，怎么找幼儿园？学费贵不？

去年下半年在Scripps Encinitas待了几个月，去这个医院的中国人好像不多，一个都
没碰到，最近版上有个MM就是在那儿生的宝宝，大概说说我了解的情况，希望对去那儿
生宝宝的MM有点帮助
这医院不大，所有科总共就两层楼，妇产科在一楼，大概15个病房（具体数忘了），5
个产房（labor and delivery room），两个剖腹产手术室
产妇刚进去时待在产房，直到宝宝生出来，产后有个护士一直陪着宝宝和妈妈，等妈妈
和宝宝情况稳定了（一般4、5小时），再转到普通病房，两人share一个房间，中间用
布帘隔着
先说护士：
scripps妇产科的护士是我见过所有护士里最nice的，在别的科，有的护士很nice，但总有几个拽拽的，但这儿的每个护士都巨nice。我是在Pomerado生的闺女，晚班护士特好，白班护士一整天不见人，从早上跟她要一点cream，到了中午还没拿来。我有个朋友是医生，那天来看我，喊了两次那个护士没见人影，走时气呼呼地说一定要投诉，没见过这样的护士。
有几个年纪比较大的护士，很沉着很有经验... 阅读全帖 |

某女医生进来后满面笑容：你好我是xxx，根据你上次的体检报告不拉不拉......
MB的老纸来美国第一次来医院有没有，从来没有做过检查有没有。你的上次的体检报告
是哪里来的！

pharmacy. ( We have PPO insurance, many Scripps doctors accept PPO.) Never
heard they have their own insurance, I don't think they are similar to
Kaiser system.

岁的时候打算送他去。另外，有个Scripps Ranch Swim & Racquiet Club. 我看提供很
多child care program，不过最小也要一岁才行。 请问有把宝宝送到那里的妈妈吗？
这个Club怎么样，在考虑要不要加入。非常感谢！ |
