我家小子终于混到了要上K的年龄，前几天给他报了名，约定昨天去学校screening. (
公立学校呢，不是考试，因为他们不能排除任何适龄的小朋友，所以这个screening呢
，就是他们用来发现有special gift 或是special needed小朋友的一个方式，可能后
来分班也用到这个）
进去先交了上次寄来的表，小子的 immunization record和SSN card，还有我家的
Utility bill。然后就被领到了小学的图书馆。小朋友贴了一个名字，就被领走了，说
是让他去做游戏。又给了我一个表让添，是关于小朋友健康状况的。问题无数，从妈妈
怀孕的时候说起。其中两个问题让我犹豫了半天，一个是describe the student's
personality. 另一个是what do you like best about your son. 真的是不知道怎么
回答呢，
小朋友在那边我看不见的地方，其他还有几个比我们来的早妈妈在等。后来，妈妈陆续
被叫过去，先是跟学校的护士谈话，大体上就是讨论小朋友有什么健康问题，还有检查 |

上周做了第一次产检，小家伙9周多一点，做了B超。然后抽了血，我看那个单子，估计
是做了“first trimester screening Blood Test”（因为这个项目显示大概时间是10
-14周），主要目的是“assess risk of Down's Syndrome and Trisomy 18 as well
as heart defects”。检查结果还没出来。
医生完了之后问我们要不要做“second trimester screening Blood Test”，主要目
的是“assess risk of Down's Syndrome, Trisomy 18, neural tube defects and
abnominal wall defeats”.
下次产检是一个月以后，因为他们不确定这个项目我的student health insurance是否
cover,今天特地问了一下保险公司，他们说不cover genetic testing for maternity.

不幸的是现在的公司前两天宣布laid off 名单， 入榜，还有两周时间。
所以申请时没被裁，很有可能phone screen 时也还没离职，到时肯定要被问为什么要
离开现工作，
请教该如何回答？

公司叫pro-green，在angie's list上面review还行。
给估算了一下，weldon ridge后门的水泥地大概是10尺 X 12 尺的。
建在现成的水泥patio上的screen porch 报价大概是四千左右。
具体的花费根据具体的要求和用料会有些调整。
有兴趣的可以站内投条。多几家人一起作大概还能有个三四百的折扣。 |

我老以50+的相亲经验，认为以下方面非常重要：
（1） 观察candidate的婚嫁心态。女性在适龄基本上心态开始是“我条件很好、很多
人追”，到接近大龄时逐渐变成“妈呀，速度不快点连稍微好点的男的都找不到啦！”
基本上来说，前一种心态的不要碰，你的个人条件再好，基本上也会被她所轻视，她会
认为后面有更好的；后一种心态比较踏实，可以交往。 具有讽刺意味的是，我相亲中
碰到的前一种心态的candidate，条件很多远差于后一种，却一一拒绝哥。

我的左眼视力非常弱视，在本州的时候测试左眼测出来不通过，被告知开医生证明才行
，后来花了60块去walmart做了检测才行的。
因为是弱视所以没有带眼镜的矫正视力，不知道这里的vision screening是否要走同样
老路。 主要麻烦还要去医生那里花钱测试。
这里测试是不是也是看个像显微镜一样的东西，然后告诉他门左右看到的颜色？
能否走个捷径混过去呢？
从小左眼弱视lazy eye没有及时矫正，也同时导致右眼势力及好，但是没想到就被测试
的时候告知我左眼视力为零。

。但是我们家地方小，没有空间做成专门的‘家庭影院’ ；只有在客厅看，
projector在看的时候才搬出来。这样Projector screen就成了问题，市上卖的很重，
三、四十磅；即使收起来时也很显眼；而且大屏幕的都很贵，有的快赶上projector自
己的价格了。但是没有SCREEN也不行，效果太差。於是我们DIY，做了一个。
我的摄影没水平，请大家担待一哈：)
这是效果：
收起来的样子。看不大出来吧？！
放下来的样子。
材料： A。3 yard white vinyl (54英寸宽的) ； 两条1/4英尺的white vinyl (54英
寸宽的) ，每条都裁成6份。。这就是白色人造革，在布店都可以买到。
B。Hot glue gun & glue sticks。在布店都可以买到。
C。一条10英尺圆木棍，或者两条，我们只用了一条，上边利用窗帘的ROD了。木棍
在HOME DEPOT买。嗯，对了，9英尺半更好一点。我们用10英尺，长了一点。
D。4个铁环和2个链接。 |

Nikon will announce a new Nikon D5500 DSLR camera in January, 2015. For now
I can only confirm that the new model will have an APS-C sensor and touch
screen LCD screen. I am not sure why Nikon decided to skip the D5400
iteration. I believe the D5500 is not going to be the only DX DSLR camera
that will be released in early 2015 - a D7100 replacement is also expected
and it will most likely be called D7200 (no D9300 updates for now).

of Death (BSoD): use System Restore to roll back to a previous state,
install updated drivers, boot in safe mode, check for hardware problems,
