should not say "I should be qualified for scramble". If you get matched, you
should NOT be qualified -:)
BTW, I am not saying you should not be preparing for that. I think I should

现在住院医三年级。其实从一年级开始就很喜欢rheum，但是迟迟下不了决心做
fellowship，觉得在我家附近找到一个位置比登天还难，实在不想再和家人分开3年了
，总想着在家附近随便找份门诊的工作就好了。
但是兴趣使然，三年级我又轮转了一次rheum（在家附近的一个大学医院），真的
喜欢，觉得如果不申请会不甘心，于是决定只在家门口申请，成最好，不成也不会后悔。
当时已经是11月，上网一看才发现match day是12月1日。我连CV都没有整好，更别
提推荐信了。家门口的大学医院不多，一个一个问过去是不是招人，一个已经有人了，
还有一个要等match结果。知道我交材料参加match来不及了，答应说如果他们不match,
会看看我的材料。
后面就顺理成章了。我乘着那一个月赶紧搜集材料，写PS，要推荐信。
他们居然真的没有match!!! 要了我的材料，很快就安排了面试，面试表现正常发
挥。但是面试后告诉我，还有其他人会去面试，他们会需要一段时间作决定。饱受煎熬

1.I was withdrawn from the MATCH because the delay in taking my CK exam,
and my score is still pending (hopefully will come out on March 16). Do you

发帖数: 379 | 30 星期五晚上开车到Cutthroat TH过夜，现在但凡是过Washington Pass的，我都不敢坐
别人的车了，实在是晕。星期六早上6点整在Silver star的起点（mile 166)准时ready
to go。Ed问我为啥来这个climb，我老老实实地说因为我连这个山的名字都没听说过
，在summitpost和我们club的网站上都查不到任何信息，所以我喜欢；越没人爬、越稀
奇古怪的我越喜欢… 在路边就能看到那一溜犬牙形状的山脊了，从Silver star到Big
Snagtooth。一出发就是一小段boulder上的下坡，有点trail吧，从一棵倒下的树杆上
过河以后，就跟trail说再见了。Silver star好歹在小树林里还是有trail的，这个是
彻彻底底什么也没有的，no trail no mark，就靠一个140的bearing穿小树林。有些地
方树稀松一些还可以脚踏实地的走；有些地方植被太密集了，根本看不见较小的路，只
能深一脚浅一脚踩到谁算谁…
进了小树林以后，就不太看得到上面的那条山脊了。我们主要就是按照140的bearing往

pop back顺序同样可以scramble成逆序。所以只要是逆序54321的所有scramble string

但是另外有scrambling 的统计。

Fairway 85.7%， GIR 11.1%, Recovery/Scrambling 6.3%, Putting per hole 2.4

Fairway 71.4% GIR 16.7% Recovery/Scrambling 26.7% Sandsave 33%, putting
per hole 1.8

8/7: 没到一个月整,但又到生理周期了, 就再记一下.
这个月吃得和前面差不多,但最多只又降了两磅,到142LB. 两个月共掉8磅,150->142.
希望到月底至少再减2磅.
有个症状,不知和少吃碳水有没有关系, 就是我近两个月时常会有一阵胸闷,象有股压力
从胸口顶到嗓子眼,再冲到太阳穴,头发晕发涨. 我打电话给大夫,每次他都叫我去急诊,
第二次电话后我就去了,结果也没查出啥来. 我没觉得饿,但也会是血糖太低引起的吗?
急诊时查的血象里的糖是正常的. 还有我近来睡觉也不好,睡四,五个小时就醒.

发帖数: 942 | 37 我鳄出品的QB毛人和提包今年同时在NFL首发，这两个人打球的风格却是截然相反，比
较起来就是两个extreme。
两人唯一的共同点是在比赛里经常有roller coaster式的表现。当年SI杂志还给毛人的
roller coaster画了一个著名的曲线图。不同的是毛人的high (号称good Rex)一般都
在比赛前半段，尤其是第一个drive往往神勇无比。Low (bad Rex)一般都在后半段，尤
其是第4节。标志性比赛是07年superbowl。开场Kevin Hester就kickoff return TD。
随后colts 扳平。毛人上场后气定神闲指挥若定，一个漂亮的long drive，最后一个精
准的pass TD，狗熊14：7，狗熊饭和鳄鱼饭看得心潮澎湃如痴如醉。再往后就是
history了，引用芝加哥人的话说就是，毛人后面把整个芝加哥都给fuck了。
提包的roller coaster跟毛人正相反。low都发生在上半场或前3节，打得就像一坨。
high都在第4节，尤其决定比赛的最后一两个drive更是神勇无比，神挡杀神，佛挡杀佛

天，第三天直接从营地撤了。大部分路程其实都是off trail，或者叫backcountry
trail，有一些class 3的rock scramble (w/ exposure）和大概20度-25度的雪坡。每
天走的时间会比较长，超过8个小时挺正常的... 第二天翻两个垭口，第二个哑口有一
段雪坡，不难走，但是如果滑了，很容易受伤，雪坡上碎石堆太多。这个路有点
committed route的味道，第一个垭口是很陡的碎石坡下，往回爬非常困难如果不是不

周末本来是去Black Peak的，星期五早上North Cascades HWY因为洪水关闭，只能临时
另找地方。Stan和John几个星期前刚刚爬过Guye的Improbable Traverse，就提议带我
们去那里，毕竟他们很熟悉路线。那条路线是5.8的，我在网上查了一下，5.8的move只
有2-3个，是balancy move，而且前后都有piton，（对我来说就意味着实在不行可以
aid了），感觉还是可以试试的。问Stan和John路线的rating有多stiff，一个回答说主
要的concern在approach上的一段class 4的friction的scramble，因为刚下了一个星期
的雨，石头上肯定还很潮，另一个说觉得hiking out is the most difficult part，
貌似都觉得climbing本身并不难，于是大家纷纷表示愿意去Guye。
星期天早上7点在North Bend集合，一起开车过去。停车场就在Guye的west face正下方

1.2 miles scramble up 1250 ft,
这里有名到google map可以直接定位。离城70英里驾车一个半小时，也可以坐
MetroNorth火车直达，
风景不错。
原路下来。
再上去。
再下来。
再上去。
……
想凑出个1万尺eg也不是不可能，而且随时可以退出，没有落石，是条极佳的
Conditioner路线
其实并不需要原路下山，半路也可以接各种小Trail，
山实际是这个样子，上山途中基本没有有效树荫。五月虫子多（缠人不咬），六月蚊子
多，七月太热，八月以后都不错，可以一直用到十一月底下雪。开春三四月也不错。
===============分界线，好久不见===============
这几日又稍微研究了一下纽约州的Catskills，这片山离纽约市区开车单程三小时，最
高峰4180 ft，海拔3500ft以上的山有35座（实为36）。技术难度最高约是Class2
scramble，可以凑成一些不错的Conditioner。

那么，Katahdin是一座什么样的山？
Katahdin是北美洲的一座神山，Penobscot印第安民族认为它是雷神的居所。美国著名
诗人梭罗亦曾从瓦尔登湖畔来到这里数月，并留下著作《Ktaadn, The Maine Woods》
。十九世纪最优秀的风景油画家Frederic Edwin Church也曾远眺此山，刻录下它黄昏
时的色彩。从人文角度来说，这里大概相当于宙斯的奥林匹斯山，或者是庐山? Mount
Katahdin同时也是世界顶级长距离徒步路线Applachian Trail的终点。在８月下旬每天
都可能在山顶偶遇通过AT全程的徒步健将们。
美国《国家地理》亦曾撰文将此山列为世界十大登山徒步路线之一。
