such a great deal because everyone has pretty much had it at that price, but

我思考了很长时间。我终于意识到：我错了。
首先我先要说的是我一直没有放弃对英语的学习。我找过tutor帮我解释词汇用法和文
化背景；我买了American Accent Training 纠正自己的发音；工作后的第一件事就是
报了English for Professionals的学习班。
我也相当积极得汲取这里的文化。我虽然不读小说，但我对非小说书籍一直保持着很高
的热情；电影电视是除了书籍外最大的消遣；虽然做不了Crossword，但 非常喜欢
Scrabble；午休时间最喜欢的读物是纽约时报的评论专栏。
应该说我没有放弃。
但我还是错了。我错在对待这种文化的态度。是，听不懂Bill Maher的笑话就像听不懂
郭德刚的相声，但我们已经能享用郭德刚的相声了，即使我们只能理解Bill Maher一半
的笑话，那也是我们多得的乐趣。是，分不清为什么一家餐馆的洋葱汤比另一家的好喝
就像搞不清楚为什么某一家的麻婆豆腐更地道，但我们为什么要在任何方面都成为专家
