my first $2-yard-sale putter was full offset. Later I spent $$$ to upgrade
it with different type of putters, but never feel comfortable with other
type of putters.
Now I am going back the same type of putter as my $2 one, with better build
(hopefully).
I guess I am like Phil, had enough trying out of different putters, now it
is time to get back to the basic. |

than we booked. I didnt get chance to practice on putting green.
you are right, that is very cruicial for a fast green course, which i only
play it second time.
I plan to putt on putting green for sure for my future round. it is too
important to fail.

the strange thing is that when i practice on the range, i dont feel my
putting was that bad. but everytime on course, just couldnt find the groove
to hole it.
so far, my long game hold steady. say "probably have an easier time getting
the ball from tee to green" 有点吹牛，不过，从TEE到GREEN边 might be easier
for me than making a 10-20 ft.

the Saturday’s game, two birdie chances ending with two bogeys. Three putts
often happens to me on a green in regulation.

too relax, i almost didnt realize i was doing bad. it is a very typical my
round recently. normally, i would see my playmates are struggling from tee
to green. and on the green, it is my pay-back time for them. in the end, we
are all even, and everyone was happy.
I checked the result again, for those 6 3-putts, half of them are GIR, and
half of them are those I was expecting save from up and down.

I get, the more putts I will have, the more three putts I will get as well.
I usually don’t get many GIRs. Out of the last fours games, I had 5, 4(9
holes), 6 and 5(9 holes) GIRs, respectively, ending with 7, 7, 7 and 4 pars
or better, respectively. More than 50% of the pars or birdies came from the
effects of chipping close and one putting. While 2/5, 0/4, 3/6 and 2/5 GIRs

even for Tiger.
look at his last tournament.
the first day, he drove the ball well, and 17 out 18 for GIR, and 35 putts.
the last day, he drove 2 out 14 on fairway, but walk away with 24 putts.
I think recover and save from up and down is an indication of good player,
while, striking the ball good or making GIR might not be the key indication
especially for weekend golfers.

the other guys that make less GIR. He said that was because he had to putt
further away from the hole and some time from wrong side of holes. I belive
that is totally true.
2 putts from any place on a difficult green, that's a standard for

even practice, as i tried occassionally.

distance is between 135 and 200 yards. A good ball striking typically lands
the ball 20 ft or more to the hole, many times 30 or 40 or 50 ft away from
the hole. It’s a challenging for me to putt the ball 30 ft to within 4 ft
of the hole.

with my new putter.
missed a 5-6 feet birdie. and another 40 yards pictching roll hit the flag
with 3 feet away, didnt close it.
still having problem on judging the distance with 3 3-putts, all of them
were started with long putts.

发帖数: 307 | 36 I don't remember where I read this tip but it works for my distance control. When you face a long putt, try to putt it while looking at the hole instead of looking at the ball. You can do all the alignment and reading as usual. Just look at the hole when you hit the ball. Your brain will tell your body how hard to putt in order to get that distance. |

bet you will have 36 putts in your next game. It takes time to improve
putting speed control, especially for the long putts over 30 ft with breaks.
