政治影响力要远大于其人口比例。林肯前任几个总统除了早死的泰勒，都是亲南方的。
而且南方比较团结，有事没事就要挟北方说要独立，北方温和派基本上为了避免独立，
经常软化态度，搞个妥协，扶植个亲南方总统的。
林肯这次当选，纯属南方自找的，首席大法官南方人Taney在黑奴Scot自由案上，
不但做出了亲南方的判决，而且从判决书上整个否决了北方的州权，为南方把
奴隶制植入北方自由州铺平了法律基础。
使得整个北方，不管温和派还是激进派都觉得，为了避免南方进一步把奴隶制扩大到北方

么真正矛盾的。都只是谈资而已。苗族也不会因为自称是蚩尤后裔而对汉人有什么仇恨。
关键还是宗教矛盾太深了。
可能因为中国文明特殊，没有多少宗教流血，一个武宗灭佛就被后来的佛教说成人间至
惨，其实一个没死，只是要求还俗结婚而已。所以中国人很难理解宗教引发的仇恨。
英国的天主教和新教引发了很多流血，还有内战。
爱尔兰之所以独立，而北爱尔兰却留在联合王国内，也因为爱尔兰是天主教，北爱尔兰
是新教为主。
爱尔兰独立就是天主教和新教的对砍。北爱尔兰的人口则是爱尔兰人和苏格兰人的新教
徒，所以没有跟着爱尔兰一起独立。爱尔兰不喜欢苏格兰是很正常的。
其它欧洲国家也一样。太远的就不说了，南斯拉夫人本来是一个民族，被东罗马收编内
附的斯拉夫部落（类似被汉朝收编内附的南匈奴），因为宗教分裂，克罗地亚（天主教
），波斯尼亚（伊斯兰），塞尔维亚（东正教），带来的流血为时不远。最后也是一拍
两散了。
