Ranking the BCS conferences for the final time this season:
1. SEC
There's no question the SEC's overall strength wasn't as good as it was
during recent seasons, with SEC East teams like Florida, Georgia and
Tennessee struggling. But when defending BCS national champion Alabama
finishes fourth in the SEC West and No. 22 Mississippi State finishes
fifth, that's proof the SEC is still the league to beat.

NCAA officials are examining whether a Texas man helped steer high school football prospects to defending Pac-10 champion Oregon, and Ducks officials on Thursday told ESPN.com that the school paid the man $25,000 in the spring of 2010 for recruiting services.

My 2006 college football predictions proved to be so prophetic that my
editors asked me to look into the crystal ball once again.
Here's some of what I told you would happen during the 2006 season:
I predicted Miami would struggle and end up playing in the Champs Sports
Bowl. Hurricanes fans told me I was dead wrong. They were right -- the
Hurricanes beat Nevada 21-20 in the lesser MPC Computers Bowl in Boise,
