45.00),fixed term (1 year) full time (40 hours/week). Funding permitting,
the position may be extended beyond the stated term. No health insurance, no
401(K) plan.
本人fresh PhD 8月刚毕业，暂时可以用regular OPT 12-month去上班。但是考虑到12
个月后，需要使用 17-month OPT-extension。OPT-extension申请需要 E-Verify 的雇
主的offer证明。我申请的这个SBIR公司老板不知道这个E-Verify，也不知道能不能
sponsor H1B visa。
请问一下我怎么去确认一个公司是不是E-Verify？如果不是，怎样才能加入这个E-
Verify？公司需要做什么手续？
恳请有在SBIR公司上过班的同学帮忙回答一下吧。 |

者外部投资把先期的必要的设备买好了，场地租下来，再开始申请。SBIR本质上是一个
grant，不是投资，因此你需要展示你有足够的条件开展所propose的研究。

once did consulting work with, invited me to participate in, to compete in
the same program. I don't want to be the subcontactor of second company.
Is it ok or not to allow the second company claim I will be consultant in
their proposed SBIR work? They asked me to provide my bio information.

因为拿SBIR做项目就是在公司里面干活了，F1不能在校外打工
唯一的可能是Subcontract到学校，学校再付你钱，可是这样的话你如果不是学校这边的
PI，你的名字也没法上Proposal
当然我没拿过NSF的SBIR，只拿过DoD的，所以你还是问NSF比较稳妥 |

academic subawardee, while for STTR this is a must. The percentages of
subaward are different. In general, for SBIR, it is 1/3 for Phase I. For
STTR, it is between 30% and 60% for Phase I. Other agencies have different
numbers but the principles are the same. |

我见过一个发考题以start up company的名义拿到了SBIR， 间接的把经费用在自己研
究上， 学校也从中拿了一笔overhead.
不过，也许SBIR本来就不是给发考题玩的东西，是吧？ |

发帖数: 494 | 18 不觉得SBIR和faculty冲突，能拿到的每一分钱都会有帮助，只要学校有overhead可以
拿就可以。Phase I一般钱不多，而且NSF的SBIR只能分给学校的合作者三分之一，但是
到了phase II就会比较多，如果你的lab有生产能力的话（很多材料，化工，机械专业
的lab），可以得到很多的
subcontract portion，你可以buy out teaching，付给学生或学校technician工资等
，当然还可以作相关的研究。
我们学校化工有的教授外面开着公司，学校里面有个很大的课题组，做得很不错。我是
在工程领域的，虽然也有fundamental research，但是如果我的成果能转化成产品，那
实在是我为之骄傲的一件事。 |

you always need to justify your mechanism of action. SBIR/STTR is shorter
projects aim for specific stage of a translatable technology. If you write
SBIR/STTR like an R01, it won't be funded. You really don't need to justify
your mechanism of action but show feasibility i.e. it works in vivo etc. |

类似的政府经费,nist, nih, nasa, dod, darpa都有类似的，拿到钱后赶紧糊弄一下再

从来没做过这个，要求在家里审10几个proposal之后要去DC开两天会：
For about 3 of your assigned proposals, you will be the
designated “Rapporteur”. As Rapporteur, you will lead the meeting
discussion for the 3 proposals, take notes, and write a post-discussion
summary on a Peer Review Results Form which must be completed before the
end of the meeting.
版上有去审过EPA的这种proposal吗？不知道自己的English是否能胜任这种face-to-
face discussion和实时做讨论笔录。
