发帖数: 1367 | 2 今天看的the big short是个大惊喜。虽然我知道这部电影的口碑很好，但还是没有想
到一部讲08年次贷危机的电影可以拍的这么紧张刺激又幽默有趣。不管是演员的表演，
剧本的精彩，剪辑的创意和精湛，甚至背景音乐，都是很有水平的大作。
电影剧情有三条支线，第一条线是一个有一只义眼的Asperger基金经理，第二条线是个
angry guy基金经理，第三条线是两个小年轻和他们的mentor，一个沉默的cynical的投
资老鸟。这几个哥们先后发现所有的大银行貌似都在犯傻，居然没有发现市值几千亿的
morgage bond market是个大泡沫。这可是赚钱良机呀。他们激动了，要去跟庄家对赌
，做空housing market。因为他们交的赌金很高，庄家同意了。等上了桌，哥几个都傻
眼了，牌是庄家的，荷官是庄家的，规则是庄家的，就连赌场巡逻抓作弊的警察都是庄
家一伙的--因为荷官工资高，警察都想当荷官，所以一点儿也不想得罪庄家。几个人输
呀输呀，差点裤子都要输掉了，终于熬到建在流沙上的赌场要垮掉了，他们赢钱了！他

我认识的最smart的PhD,去top business school做faculty,9个月250K+,summer给大公
司做consulting，按小时收费，每小时500块，具体多少个小时我不清楚。
我认识的最smart的本科，每个暑假都在Goldman Sachs做summer intern,每周10K包吃
包住，出去旅行做飞机头等舱，公司报销，他们曾有出去做经济舱被公司炒掉的。本科
毕业后在Goldman Sachs investment banking division，每年算上乱七八糟的也有
250K以上300K一下，到现在才做了2年国内一套房子给父母，自己这边也买了一套。
我认识到最smart的MBA，毕业之后去Merryl Lynch,现在毕业8年了做到VP每年有800K以
上的toyal compensation
你看看到底谁拿得多吧。
American culture就是搞技术的没有搞管理的拿的多，除非你是star trader
1万，现在毕业3年年薪已经涨到14业就拿到5个offer，最后fresh graduate年薪就14。

近来，北京忽然入春，传说中的4月15号，竟然是这样一个柳絮如春雪
般纷飞的日子。 回想半年前，还曾跑去金色银杏夹道的湖边开成绩单，曾在静谧的落
雪冬夜边听摇滚边修改申请材料，顿时颇有恍如隔世之感。
言归正传，既然是申请总结，就首先来照例写写我的申请结果和背景吧：
申请学校（都是PhD Program）：
Chemical Engineering: MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, Princeton, Caltech,
Cornell, Yale
Chemistry: Harvard, Caltech

录取结果： 全部都收到了offer

1. 元培化学方向，排名：1/173 (GPA按07级算法是3.84，按06级算法是3.9多点儿...)

看你那行PhD的出路和MS比如何了。反正我是很后悔先前一时冲动又跳回PHD的坑的，原
以为自己够牛逼不用做博士后，毕业了才明白比我牛逼多了的人也非得做博士后不可。
如果你们的博士工作还算好找而且钱比MS多出一大截，那看钱份上可以一读，否则，如
果你对专业没兴趣，对赚钱也没兴趣，那很没必要拿这个学位。

不幸于2004年七月七日早七时（七七）49分离开了世界。当时我已经写过纪念杨小凯的

貌似这里的人也都不了解这个group. 不过还是多谢各位积极参与讨论. anyways, 我应
该不太可能拿到他家面试的. 所以还是pass好了. 不过还是想表达一下对这个group做
的工作的不同看法.
首先firmwide strategy group是在finance底下的, 而strat是在securities底下的.
基本的放狗搜索我还是会的, 只是想更多的了解他们做的工作着实不容易.
