Some larger 7X7s and Airbuses cannot take off from short runways, as those
found in Boston Logan Airport. This is another consideration for operation. |

River Rock casino's Runway 26 buffet used to have the chocolate fountain ,
but not anymore. The Tulalip casino in Seattle , their buffet have a good
selection of desserts too.
For $26 ,it's a little expensive for just desserts now. |

Big bang我当年很喜欢，现在过时了。电视就是一种fashion，不能看上一季红的东西。
上大学一年级（２００２）年时候，同学还都看Friends学英语，我就说，别看friends
啦，赶快看sex and the city，要不跟不上潮流了。
那时候大家都才１８，那是多大的冲击啊。
来美国也是，别人看sex and the city时候，我已经开始追gossip girl，等别人开始

等别人追big bang theory，我就去追Nakita。
一定要在潮流的前半步。。。 这样才能跟上主流文化的脉搏。

下单翼的好处:
加油方便,
地面滑行时容易看清自己的机翼会不会碰到周围的东西, 尤其是其他飞机.
上单翼的好处:
飞行时容易向下看地标,
万一在地面滑行的差一些, 也不容易撞上如runway-light之类低矮障碍物,
下雨的时候多个躲雨的地方.
Piper Cherokee有点讨厌的地方就是它只有一个门, 万一需要紧急撤离的时候还要一脚
把右面的乘客踢出去自己才能出来. |

close to the mountain/cliff on the left after take-off; and landing there
has two options: a long final where you cannot see the runway until the last
half mile, or a normal pattern where you make the base-to-final turn

从ITH起飞的时候天气不是特别好，有小雨，还好celing有7000，FA说整
条路线VFR。要了Radar Following，结果起飞后才给Squawk Code，叫我
Contact ELM Departure，我说，有Departure Freq吗？来回两三次，我
还把Squawk号弄错了一位。ELM告诉我对的Code。然后往东飞到BGM。
Level 5500。
过了BGM，找到了我选的Alternate Airport CZG，考官把我油门关了，说
咋办，我一边忙活，他一边取消了Radar Following，我就缓缓的滑到了
CZG上面，地面人说用Runway 21，我转了一圈，到Downwind高度刚好是
1000AGL，然后就Dead-stick, Forward slip，这在ITH练过至少10来次，
最后降得还是满轻的。
然后就是模拟Soft & Short，再爬起来之后就是Ground-Ref-Maneuver，
Steep Turn，Slow Flight，Instrument。觉得考官成心想放 |

但是过了这块, 飞机又象石头一样咚的掉下来了.

大部分时候我也不知道停在机场具体什么地方,有airport diagram也用不上.
怎么去跑道可以要求ground帮你指挥. |

发帖数: 96 | 39 在天上的时候风再大也只是影响ground speed，飞机其实没什么感觉的。唯一要注意的
就是如果有稍微强烈一点点的turbulence的话要把速度降到maneuvering speed以下，
防止机身结构受力太大。
飞pattern的话我估计你教练也应该经常会提醒你注意crabbing以保持那个长方形的
pattern而不是给风吹歪了。风大的时候可以保持更高的airspeed，尤其是侧风的时候
可以slip to land，这样更容易保持在runway center line上面。
最简单的提高方法就是找大风的天气叫老师陪你上去练，多练习几次就好了。如果你飞
的是nosedragger的话，哪怕飞的不好，被风吹翻的机会其实不太大的（毕竟天气要真
那么恐怖老师就不让你上去了），不用那么紧张 |

抬头看the end of the runway, 用peripheral vision看跑道周边建筑物.
感觉看跑道中间的白色虚线也有一定帮助.
可以多飞几个low pass. 就保持那个高度slow flight, 减速直到stall. |

I agree RHV is a better choice for learning.
KRHV has 2 runways which means better exposure to more complex patterns.
Also KE16 is just about 20 miles to the south, non-towered with very few
traffic. Great place for practicing maneuvers or pattern work without a lot
of traffic.
I don't have good authority on this but I heard KPAO is also slightly more
expensive. |

自从开始on medication之后，我就发现记忆力感知力下降。是选择痛并清醒着，还是
选择不痛但恍惚着，这真的是个问题。当然当时没的选择。离开hotel时我还发自内心地
专门跟那个高大男说我们really enjoyed our stay and everything is great blah
blah 尤其那个翻译看病的小纸片真是太管用了（以前住过那么多酒店还真没一次让人觉
得想说点什么的）。心想，下次来还住这儿 - 反正还要去南极嘛...
世界尽头的机场门前：
今天要去El Chalten, LP上说Chalten没有ATM, 所以专门临走前在Ushuaia取了些cash.
不妙的是Ushuaia机场交了departure tax，算算cash又不够用了。机场过security
时LD看手里大瓶果汁还没喝完，就让道旁边开始咕嘟咕嘟灌，安检小伙子看见笑了招呼说
没事儿可以带进去。是啊，早说啊，什么都美国麻烦。

毛日文，我常常自诩知日派。当然每次都要特别强调不是哈日，因为我确实也绝非哈日
。但是说这么多，我只是多年前回国路上转机时在东京逗留过两个不到24小时，分别到
成田市内和东京市中心非常简短地逛了逛，所以一直以来我总想能去日本好好看看。
2011年底本来想去，但是因为怕辐射余威，没敢去。2012年年末，我又想起了这个念
头。这一年里中日关系因为钓鱼岛问题极度紧张，这个时候去日本，估计是一定
会被骂哈日的，然而想想还是决定趁公司年底圣诞新年期间shutdown的差不多一
周长假去东京旅游一次。
因为是联航ＵＡ的里程会员，我定了25日从SFO直飞成田ＮＲＴ的ＵＡ837航班，航班应
该是早上11点起飞，东京时间26日下午3点左右到达。先需要说一句的是天气，不知是
否是后面所有故事的原因：之前一天的24日，湾区倾盆大雨下了差不多一天，好在25日
一大早从南湾出门的时候天气还好，但是到了SFO的时候，已经又开始飘起小雨了。飞
机正点开始登机，这个时候差不多是早上1０点2０分左右。
