意思是router的线接modem之后，再从router后面接一wire cable连到电脑就是有线。
再在电脑上装光盘是负责无线的，对吗？

安全设置里不要用IP过滤。
看一下你附近是否有很多WIFI网，在LIST里MOVE掉那些不用的，特别是没有设密码的。
检查一下你的无线网卡的驱动，是否需要升级。
检查一下你的ROUTER是否需要升级。
换一个ROUTER，目前最好的两个ROUTER一个是苹果的，一个是LINKSYS的。频段更高 |

router A上，发现通过router B的电脑不work。
主要症状似乎是不能找到DNS server。
A的设置是：dynamic IP address allocation, dynamic DNS server
B的设置是：dynamic IP address allocation, dynamic DNS server
不知道这样为什么不行？ |

2. Re-connect the cable, turn on the power, and reset the router.
3. Configure the router to have a unique SSID, and use security.
These routers are dumb devices. You won't need to change IP, etc.

live，也为了stream下载的电影，必须要把xbox360连到LAN上。最简单的方法当然是买
个360的wireless adapter，sticker price is $99.99. 实在有点变态的贵啊，于是前
两天在这儿问了这个问题，谢谢大家的答复，很有帮助。用了两天的时间终于搞定。没
有买 wireless game bridge, $50还是贵啊。 最后买了个router（少于$30）作bridge
用，so far so good。 步骤如下，希望对某些同修有些帮助。
1。主router，belkin的wireless，没有作其他特殊的设置，用于连接cable modem，还
有其他desktop，laptop电脑。
2。作bridge用的router， LinkSys WRT54GL, 无线连接到主router同时有线连接到
X360。首先flash了一下DD-WRT，之后用client bridge模式。估计不flash firmware也
可以，只不过flash以后 |

to boot this morning. Called Asus, and the guy let
me send it in for repair, with very bad attitude,
although no arguments at all.

data cable from your ISP provider ... go to http://www.dd-wrt.com and follow the instruction there. Typically you install the mini-generic version first, then upgrade to the standard version. After that, you can follow your ISP's instruction to hook up with the router.

Somehow this router blocks port 80. I cannot have IIS listen to this port.
Nonstandard ports are fine.
My ISP, SBC DSL, does NOT block port 80. In other words, if I directly
connect my XP box to the DSL modem, my IIS can listen to port 80 without any
problem.
I did port forwarding setting in the router as instructed at

，但不能互联。（这个router 有 4 个 ethernet port 加无线连接）
我想问一下：如果这个 router 没有专门注明带 hub，那么一般有没有 Hub 或者 switch
的功能？我如果要实现三台机器互联，是否一定要再去买个hub or switch？

look into layer above IP when it does this job, that is why the book
says router doesn't have TCP and other upper layers. But this is the stroy
of data-plane. A router also has control-plane, which is used to exchange
routing information, build route table, etc. TCP/UDP certainly exists in
control-plane.

however PWE3 routers are more focused on transportation, you either deploy
VPLS/EoMPLS/VPWS, or other Martini stuff, or kempella (this is very new, cisco
might be slow on this).
I would say they both are routers, for an edge box, it really doesn't have to

，但通过router就上不去了（能找到自己无线网络，但就是打不开网页），而且不光是

2个都是wrt54g，都设了port forwarding
第1个设的access point模式，连cable modem，地址是192.168.1.1
第2个设的是client模式，连台式机，地址是192.168.3.1
第2个router用wireless连第1个router
如果把台式机直接连第一个上，bt很快，带宽明显全被bt占了，telnet很慢
但如果像上边那样2级router，bt就慢了，最重要的是好像还剩很大带宽，
telnet，www还是很快
大家说是怎么回事？

1. Macbook, iphone, router 设置static 地址试试看，如果用dhcp，试着可否设置它
永不过期，很多时候是ip地址冲突导致两者不能上网。或者说两个之间是否可以访问。
２.iphone与macbook是否有信号干扰？比方说你把iphone拿到比较远离macbook的地方
他们是否可以上网？或者iphone与macbook之间是否可以相互访问？
３.还有一个可能性就是iphone或者macbook（多半是iphone）与router的兼容性不好，
导致iphone上网的连接不会reset,结果，上网的连接数很快就达到了router的总连接数
。这样的话，你每隔一段时间还真必须重启你的router了。我个人认为这个可能性比较大。尤其是
iphone. |

Cable Internet connection，先进cable modem，再连router，一个台式机用有线连接
，一个
笔记本，一般用wireless，有时候会用网线连接。
联网的速度是用http://www.speedtest.net/ 来测的。
最近注意到这样一个现象：
有时候wireless会变得很慢，但如果用网线把笔记本和router连起来，速度还是很快，
所以不是ISP
的问题。当wireless变得很慢的时候，试过两个router，都这样（ASUS RT-N16， 和
Linksys
E4200）。wireless好的时候，http://www.speedtest.net/ 测试显示可以到15-30Mbps，不
好的时候，会只有2Mbps，甚至更少（但是wired connection的网速都一直很稳定）。
都有那些原因会造成router的wireless忽然变得这么慢的？和周围邻居的无线网冲突？
（我是住在
condo里，所以能检测到的无线网不少）。

Laptop B: vista，无线
本来可以都上网，昨天我共享了一下打印机和其他一些文件夹，b可以打印了，但是这
个时候两台电脑都不能上网了。试了一下不用router，a直接连cable modem，是可以上
网的。还没有试过reset router。

bridge on the router 2. Essentially the laptop in room 2 (where printer is)
still gets faster speed (144M) than the speed of a G router can re-transmit
(54M). So I guess the ideal situation would always be using the main router'

DDNS正确指到了我的external ip，但是我用DDNS:88却连不上我的router，我觉得应该
是DDNS其实是指到了我的modem，而没有指到router上。

选的是no，我把这个改成yes了，然后router就可以WAN ip就是external ip了。但是这
样以后我的router（tomato)里面的ddns就不工作了，不能正常更新ip，而且router里
面的时间也不能自动更新了，我的pap2也不能注册到sipsocery和voipbuster了。。。。
现在只好把modem的那个选项改回no，这样上面的问题就没有了。
给诊断下，可能是什么问题？ 这样两级子网怎么才能在internet上access我的router
的admin呢？其实我就是想用tomato上的WOL，这样我有需要的时候可以随时启动我家里
的计算机。有没有别的办法可以WOL？

电视和台式机比较远，台式机用的无线网卡（USB和PCI-E的都尝试了）信号就1-2格，
白天打网页还行，晚上有的时候网页都打不开。所以用另外一个router Asus 520GU（
都刷的是tomato）, 桥接。Xbox和PBO用网线连在Asus 520GU上。看CCTV和玩游还比较
卡。XBOX里面测试网速说网速不够看1080P的电影。台式机网速也没有明显改善，还是1
-2格。自己按网上设置的，2个路由器IP设置不同，网络ID和密码都设置一样的，WDS+
AP，互添MAC。 感觉桥接成功了，XBOX和PBO都能上网了。台式机和Asus 520GU在一个
房间，信号还是1-2格，不知道到底是连接3500L还是520GU，如何分辨，因为网络ID都
一样的。
现在想买2个200M的powerline, 1个连主router,另一个插在电视旁边的电源上。 Asus
520GU做交换机，XBOX和PBO用网线连接在Asus 520GU上（感觉网速应该能快些）。 台

上后，网络怎么都不通。其他机器可以正常无线或有线连到router上，但对外的网络就
