I thought might be interesting enough for me to put here.
IMHO, boundary checking in Java contributes a lot in robustness.
While thomas is right about it is hard for a program to recover
from an out of boundary, the key point of Java's built-in boundary
checking is that it allows the program to fail in an *orderly* manner,
and prevents the anormaly condition from propagating to other parts

从经典的生化实验中，我们可以看到，对于一个蛋白，特别是一个酶，一定要有非常好
的，稳定性，重复性都很高的assay，才能真正地了解它的功能与特性。
每个好的assay，都是酶的真实功能的显示。
如果一个酶缺乏一个assay想要测到的功能，不是assay没设对，就很可能是这个酶没有
这个想要达到的功能了。
比如Taq酶，其实它的一个很好的assay，也是它的应用，就是PCR。
这个assay 很robust， 成功率很高，应用就广了。
Taq酶辅助了PCR， PCR成就了Taq酶;
Cas9这个酶也是相似的，加上 CRISPR成为一个系统，CRISPR/Cas9也有一个很好的
assay， 也是它的应用， 这就是基因编辑了。
这个assay 也很robust， 成功率也很高，应用就更广了。

tail，outlier，non-normality, scale of measures之类的。算法不是万能的，没有
上下文，泛泛地说一个算法robust/稳定，完全没有意义。

of XX parameter.

多了，理论上能够解释更多的variance。但是performance还取决于你看得那个
measurement的性质。如果说要看model robust不，因为2个variable这个model是
robust的，说明这2个variable的极值不会对结果有大的影响，但是不保证其他的变量
不会有。你可以看你得estimator的具体形式,基本就是丢掉outlier或者给很少weight
，和新变量怎么影响他的。或者自己用不同的data，然后看看系数的变化来决定robust
不。
第二个，最简单的想法就是把explanatory variable matrix变成blockwise diagonal
的，这个基本上就是线性变换，有很多方法做。也可以看作是变换后，变量都是
blockwise正交的，这样后面的计算简单很多。pca,cluster之类的其实都是差不多的。

众所周知，现代科学体系起源于西方，西方的科学名词术语等传到中国的时候，翻译要
是出了点偏差，就会让人产生种种羞耻的联想。有些本身毫无问题的学术词汇，改头换
面进入汉语的时候就会让人觉得有些怪怪的。
但这个锅不能完全让翻译背！随着污的词汇越来越多，原来浓眉大眼的一些学术词汇也
叛变革命，变得污了！
其实，世界上并不缺少污，而是缺少一双污的眼睛。壹读君（微信：yiduiread）今天

1. 夹逼定理
说起这个话题，夹逼定理会跳起来大喊：“本宝宝冤枉啊！”
夹逼定理的英文名称是“SqueezeTheorem”，本来没有什么污的成分。但是“squeeze
”这个词翻译成“夹逼”……总难免让某些同志产生不正确的联想。
事实上，这个定理描述的是一种求函数极限的法则。假若两个函数A和B都在某一定值c
附近连续，而且A和B在取值无限趋近于c时将会无限趋近于另一定值X，又有函数f在c附

有人听说我想创业，给我提出了一些“忽悠”的办法。他们说，既然你是程序语言专家
，而现在人工智能（AI）又非常热，那你其实可以搞一个“自动编程系统”，号称可以
自动生成程序，取代程序员的工作，节省许许多多的人力支出，这样就可以趁着“AI
热”拉到投资。
有人甚至把名字都给我想好了，叫“深度程序员”（DeepCoder = Deep Learning +
Coder）。口号是：“有了 DeepCoder，不用 Top Coder！” 还有人给我指出了这方向
最新的，吹得神乎其神的研究，比如微软的 Robust Fill……
我谢谢这些人的关心，然而其实我并不在乎，也不看好人工智能。现在我简单的讲一下
我的看法。
