1.拿水瓶的时候，不应该用drop bar啊，一般都是在bar top, hood 也可以。
2.换档应该是前面（crank）保持不变，后面减档，到了后面减到中间，才开始减前面
的。

bounce off bikes, I need to get a folding bike to ensure I can go to work
on time. So I got a Dahon Boardwalk S1, chopped off the handlebars, put on
a 3T 4GXL stem, and bullhorn bars. I can constantly pass roadies on this
set up. :) |

something you can comfortably walk in for touring and something you can clip
in/out quickly at stop signs for commuting. roadie cleats are mostly
plastic. think how long that will last when you walk on them. |

1. 换轮胎
2. 降低前把的高度(stem).
3. 如果saddle比较重,换个轻些适合road的
4. 把suspention调到最硬
如果横把握时间长不舒服,多半是骑车姿势或握法的问题.
其他的没什么必要 - 真有那个时间和钱,还不如单买一台roadie或cyclocross呢 |

to do here. offroad terrains vary wildly in their difficulty. 80 miles on (
even mild) mtb trails is more like 200 miles on road, while 80 miles on rail
trails could be like just 100 miles on pavement.
on one extreme you might want dual suspension to take the edge, while a
roadie with fatter tires will suffice on the other.
so what are you trying to do, really? have you have any experience riding
mtb? |

roadies are like 72-73 degrees
Different steering: tri bike uses pursuit bar + aero
Different riding position: on tri bike you lean much forward, effectively
giving up some level of control for speed. in a packed group ride you are
only inches away from the next dude. Also, triathletes love riding in aero
position whenever possible, making it even worse. |

moutain)更重要。
upgrade的门道很多，等你用这个车子跑了两三千迈以上，大概就会有这方面的要求了
，现在还是先跑起来再说吧。
DC的trail不少，有一条OD&Wilson Trail，从山脚下的一个镇（Friderickburg?)经过
Leesville到Sterling到Reston一直到DC downtown，还有个Mt Vernon trail风景也不
错。其实DC城里的bike trail/lane四通八达。骑车去博物馆咖啡店四处逛逛，还是蛮
小资的。 |

Cyclocross和road bike的外形更接近，所以骑行姿势也接近，没有山地和touring
bike那么直立。速度而言，就一般玩玩而已的业余骑手，差别和roadie不太大。在我经
常混的那个俱乐部，我用cyclocross的速度届于他们的A组和B组之间。
如果你比较在意舒适性，还想在公路/trail上混合骑，还要在（比较慢的）group ride
中跟得上，我的建议是找台轻些的MTB，上clipless和commuting 轮胎。 |

我的第一次tri骑二手沃尔玛山地上场，感觉跟裸奔差不多，25迈骑了2小时。所有选手
都套我至少一圈（共4圈）
现在骑的是原价$2.6k的roadie，练习了半年之后，上下班单程15迈平均速度分别是18
和21mph（一路平缓的0.5%坡度）。周末的长路线平均速度是17-18mph.
跑啊跑请不要误会，我丝毫没有想质疑你的原帖。不过既然帖子引起争论了，你能不能
就像四十兄建议的，奔个车，再找个时间重骑一次你的路线后和大家确认一下？ |

Just google and you'll find tons of info on bike aerodynamics.
Once you can maintain 22mph on a roadie, getting an aero helmet, aero bars,
and aero wheels can get you at least 1mph faster. The TT bike itself isn't
what makes you go faster, it's the geometry that allows you to ride in an
aero position without losing stability. |

那你的腿可能爆直...
ST 的那篇文章还提到一个对 tri/TT bike 有用的 rule: BB-saddle
distance 大约等于 saddle tip-aerobar top distance. 我量了
一下我 FIST fit 过的 Cervelo, 的确是这样。然后用 saddle height
和 seat tube angle 就能算出 bar drop. 最后再边骑边微调就好了。
我把我 roadie 的 effective seat tube angle 都搞到最高 (近
76 度，用 0 offset 的 thomson sp 再前推到底，再上长鼻子 tri
saddle), 然后把所有 Cervelo 的 measurement 都移过来。省 200
块啊。 |

can use it as a floor pump. if you only have a hand pump, you lay the wheel
on the road or against a tree. push nuzzle end of the pump against the road
or tree. and then push the handle perpendicular to the road/tree. if you
work hard, you might get a good 80 psi into the tire.

想着老有人要动员废除 bike lane，因为耗太多宝贵空间，我就鸡婆地
估算了一下：四线高速公路上的车如果把人拿出来放到单车上，汽车全
丢掉，基本两条 bike lanes 就可以塞下。 因为大部分的车都只有一个
人。当车子嫌 cyclists 挡路时，其实是汽车司机加上发动机，车身，还
有满车的垃圾 （那面积至少可以塞六个 roadies）在愤怒地要“人”让道。
这 TMD 的还有理了。 |
