估计不好生，昨天检查开一指，做了ripening cervix的处理，快疼死了，这还没生就
这么难受。
孩子挺重的，一周多之前b超已经说8lb 8oz了，估计现在得有至少9lb。头大。医生说
不到5000g不会给刨的，还跟我说初产妇最少要2天才能生下来。
现在是硬着头皮也得上啊！open minded！尽量想点积极乐观的吧。

杨振宁
黄昆和我在西南联大研究院是同班同学。我们于1944年得到物理学硕士学位。一年以后
，我们先后出国，去修读博士学位。他去了英国，我去了美国。出国以后我们不常通信
，可是每次提笔写信却总是写得很长。1947年2月或3月我给他写了一封长信。那时我正
在Allison的实验室工作，不很顺利，所以信上一定用了disillusionment一字。可惜这
封信我没有留下副本，而他也没有把原信保留下来。但是他的回信却在我的来往信件档
案之中。现在我把他给我的这封信打好复印在下面。
这封信很有意思。它描述了他（和我）作研究生时候的一些企求与失望的心态。也描述
了他对导师Mott的评价。关于Bernard Shaw的一段话也非常有意思。相信物理系的研究
生会从这封信中得到一些鼓励与启发。

We are opening the front half of our orchard this week. Come out Tuesday for
some peaceful weekday picking and be the first to pick in our new young
trees. The fruit is big, plentiful and absolutely beautiful.
Our parking lot is in the front for now.

黄昆和我在西南联大研究院是同班同学。我们于1944年得到物理学硕士学位。一年以后
，我们先后出国，去修读博士学位。他去了英国，我去了美国。出国以后我们不常通信
，可是每次提笔写信却总是写得很长。1947年2月或3月我给他写了一封长信。那时我正
在Allison的实验室工作，不很顺利，所以信上一定用了disillusionment一字。可惜这
封信我没有留下副本，而他也没有把原信保留下来。但是他的回信却在我的来往信件档
案之中。现在我把他给我的这封信打好复印在下面。
这封信很有意思。它描述了他（和我）作研究生时候的一些企求与失望的心态。也描述
了他对导师Mott的评价。关于Bernard Shaw的一段话也非常有意思。相信物理系的研究
生会从这封信中得到一些鼓励与启发。

Jim是我和我先生的至诚好友，他象父辈亲人一样关爱着我们全家。当我们从英国毕业
来到美国工作时，是他经常打电话给我们，帮助我们了解和适应美国的文化和生活。
Jim特别喜欢我们家女儿小企鹅。每年小企鹅的生日和圣诞节，他都会以“St. Louis
Grandpa”的身份给小企鹅寄礼物，从未间断。在我们与他相识的23年，Jim见证了小企
鹅从小学生、中学生、大学生到法学生，从童年、少年、到青年结婚为人妻的成长过程
。在他最后一次修改遗嘱时（去世前的4年），他嘱咐家人留十万美元给我们家女儿小
企鹅，帮助她付教育费用。在被Jim对我们的慷慨大方和关爱感动之余，先生、女儿、
女婿和我决定将这笔钱捐赠给Jim的母校，建立一个以他的名字命名的奖学金帮助更有

那这颗诡异的果子是咋回事？
帮我看看我家的樱桃树和果子 判断一下到底是啥品种？我还需要买个什么品种的回来

seeds. But it is not worth the effort for the modern-day hybrid. You will
get very low yield next season. It is just easier to buy new seeds or
seedlings next year.
If you have cucumbers that are turning yellow, you can still harvest them
for cooking like zucchini. |
