如果将来定位于工业界，一定不学纯算法方向的，那些方向的学生除了个matlab，什么
都不会用，将来找程序员会很难。即使做算法，也要尽量往data mining，
information retrieval方向上靠，因为这些算法方向在工业界应用很广泛。Google，
FB等大公司有许多职位喜欢招这方面的phd。但是那些太偏理论的教授也不要跟，要选
那些将data mining，information retrieval算法应用在实际系统里的教授。
另外system方向的一直都很不错，因为做system方向的research，需要有很强的动手能
力，比如改Linux kernel，在distributed testbed上跑大量的实验。这些方向往往涉
及到OS, networks， cloud computing， database， storage里的performance。这些
东西又恰恰是公司要用的东西。这个方向出来的学生，投简历的话，可以收到大把大把公司的回复。
至于那些医疗啊，图像处理啊，都是些老的掉牙的方向，学出来除了几个大牛公司可以... 阅读全帖 |

to be O(nlgn). But without knowing A[i] < A[n+i], we can also achieve this
by some sorting algorithms.

the value of having this property. |

按我理解，应该是对Search Engine的基本数据的重复利用什么的
sudoku就是把每行每列每个正方形都单独存一份，所以一共有
int rows[9][9]
int cols[9][9]
int squares[9][9]
这样，更新就更新三次，取数随便从哪个取当然都行
关键是他要求的判断是否合法的操作，就对27个int[9]做同样的判断就行了 |

目前的没查，不过文字方面的information retrieval因为模型的局限，不确定是不是
能用deep learning，而这个deep learning就和人工搞统计模型不是一个概念，而目前
公司在legal tech/e-discovery领域，根本不敢用复杂算法，就是简单的BN都被英国法
庭判定为不可确定，所以个人感觉你的研究领域在统计方面，也许是药厂那种，对ML的
东西了解太少了，目的不一样，很多手段方法没什么可比性，说information
retrieval简单更是过于武断。 |

发帖数: 1639 | 38 不好意思，没有教材。识物部分，多是用google image搜索到的一些图片用于教学。认字部分，一方面用Photoshop做字卡，另外一方面用毛笔字自制识物字卡。其实生活中有很多teachable moments and teachable things，只需要父母做一个有心人。知识点的引入，通常有几个要点。

neuron 的存在，以及大脑可以 selectively inhibit motor function（比如一个证据
是做梦的时候不会梦游），很难说 non-musician 公鸭嗓听歌的时候是不是在默唱。如
果是默唱的话，那个就是 episodic memory 而不是 semantic memory，甚至还有可能
是 implicit memory。
