1) Salary? the salary is low, and the tax is low.
2) Housing price? the housing price is extrmely high, a million USdollar?
just a 1,000 square feet flat, with a 700 sqaure feet usable area.
3) Kids Education? No kids allowance for faculaties recruited after 1998.
4) Pressure? Seemingly lower requirement compared with major US research
school. However, without the comparable resesarch environment (the senior
guidance, the opportunity to present at good research school), the |

也要第一作者的。我记得有个系主任跟我说他们有一年招人，花了很长时间根据简历讨

social science position. Candidates 世界各地都有，中国人占了大概一半（也是从
世界各地申请的）。发现以下几点技术因素非常减分：
（1）眼睑低着（就像在读稿子）
（2）整个人的位置是斜的，不是正面对这镜头
（3）不停的晃阿晃阿晃阿
（4）不停的摆手，尤其是讲到激动处
（5）不把话讲完
（6）正个人在屏幕上过大或者过小
（7）背景太复杂
(8) 口音太重（没办法，就是很有影响）
这些都是小事，但非常值得注意。因为直接影响每个人的感受，并且不喜欢你的人总能
联系到classroom teaching。我发现有人真的是演练得很好，并且一定从灯光，背景个
方面都“测试”过。觉得skype interview这一步很关键，直接关系谁进shortlist。除

if you are PhD, focus on your resesarch/cv. Practice some basic programming/
os, and some fundamentals in your field.
if you are master, focus more on coding/os, I guess.

标 题: 有人了解Goldman的firmwide strategy group吗?

我对corporate strategy 很感兴趣, 突然发现goldman有一个group就叫firmwide
strategy的, 不知道做的东西和咨询公司给corporate做的东西是不是一样. 如果不同,
有哪些不同呢?
另外, 我在网上能找到的资料来看, 貌似这一支group主要是为M&A 做support的, 研究
竞争者, 做resesarch, 确定M&A的target. 不知道我的理解对不对. 另外这一支group
相当于IBD里面的其他group来说, 进去的难度有多大呢?

I'm on the market this year and trying to write my research statement. I
know we should write about papers in dissertation package and future
research plan. Do I also need to write about published/accepted papers and/
or working papers which are under review? And, for the research plan part,
how specific it needs to be? Data, methods, etc.? Or just the ideas?

hopefuly we can find some good candidates.
Several resesarch positions including post-doc for Ph.D, research assistant
for MS or graduate student in medical physics will be availabe in a leading
cancer hospital. I prefer someone having strong programming, numerical
calculation, and problem soliving skill. But we will consider all good
applicants since serval faculties here are hiring.
