有朋友去印度开会，回来谈观感，印象最深的是印度的“哲学家”很多，喜谈精神性，
连政治家都愿意附庸风雅，而且个个能说会道。由于历史的缘故，中国学者多数说不娴
熟的英语，印度学者则说娴熟而我们听不懂的英语。不过，印度人虽然普遍使用英语，
除了民主政治外，一般生活方式上西方化的程度却比中国低，比如麦当劳很少，圣诞节
也没中国热闹。朋友说，印度人似乎比较快乐，乞丐要钱总是笑眯眯的，即使要不到钱
也不改脸色。
最后这点让我尤其感兴趣，印度乞丐总是笑眯眯，我猜想很可能与挥之不去的种姓制度
有关系。查维基百科，种姓制度在印度始于公元前20世纪，是借由许多不同的标准，包
括是否吃素、是否杀牛以及是否接触尸体等等，建立起来的一套相对阶序。种姓制度将
印度人区分为婆罗门、刹帝利、吠舍与首陀罗四个阶层，并在英属殖民地时期固化为边

一点就是政府要给人民一定的经济保障，换句话说就是要给人民发现金。因为人只有在
