发帖数: 2312 | 3 Rescue即使肯收（这个算owner surrender吧，有些rescue不收的），它最大的问题是
最后还是会adopt出去的。虽然他们会对申请人的条件有一定的要求，但是最后狗被
adopt后的命运怎样你是完全不知道也没有控制。所以rescue是比shelter好（不会被
put down，foster期间比shelter笼子舒服），但是也就是比shelter好而已。而且
rescue里面的狗也经常在不同的foster家庭之间转来转去。。。
一个option是联系rescue，看他们能否帮foster（但不adopt出去），LZ每月给他们捐
款几百，直到LZ自己能领回来。但是这个搞不好会被认为变相boarding，Rescue组织未
必肯干。
sigh，我好希望板上有同学肯收了。最爱大白熊了，可惜家里不能养。其实别的州靠得
住的人肯收也好啊，寄费相比boarding还是很便宜的。 |

发帖数: 2312 | 4 不建议跟原狗主联系。那才是趟浑水呢。不能送回最初的shelter。那个是kill的。要
送回就送回后来接手的rescue。不过一旦送回lz就失去任何所有权或发言权了。没什么
三方协商的。生活不是电影。rescue的立场很坚定的，肯定不会还给原主。
如果lz跟rescue签过不能转送的协议，从理论上说这狗已经无论如何不可能回到原狗主
那里了。
如果lz怕烦也不care狗以后怎样，就送回rescue，相忘于江湖。
如果lz象你这么同情原主，想让狗跟她，那就直接让她接回去，指望rescue不追究，但
这个有risk。
如果lz认为狗跟自己最好，就坚定地留下。原主再打电话的话就说自己跟rescue签过协
议，没办法还给她，然后安慰她说自己会对狗很好。再然后就block电话了。 |

好是用水做负重，下山的时候倒掉。给你个大致的我们的bench mark: 4 miles, 3300
ft, 2小时及格，1:30优秀。不是说你体能达不到就一定不能登，但是你如果能及格就
会有一定的saftey margin。登山不是跑road race，you can't go all out. when
things happen, rescue might not be immediately available, 即使是Rainier，
rescue也经常是days away
技术上，我们一般都很general的教alpine rock & glacier。我们用的教材是freedom
of the hills 8th edition。书的权威性我不做评价，大家见仁见智。我读过的书也不
少。craig connnally的the mountaineering handbook和cosley & houston的alpine

我翻船以后，直接用脚勾住船侧舷，把船中段倒扣在腿上平衡住，这船就不容易跑掉了
吧。我知道有些人用长leash把桨拴在手腕上，不过我不喜欢这样，我如果腾不出手，
就把桨夹在腋下或者身体和船中间也就跑不掉了啊。爬回来和翻回来是两个概念。翻回
来也许对有些人很难，爬回来就跟广播体操一样，一二一的动作，我还没见过练习了一
个小时，还弄不熟练的...
而且对sea kayak而言，self rescue和group rescue给我的感觉，唯一的区别是group
rescue，别人可以帮你把水彻底倒干净，self rescue回去以后，对我来说还要多花半
分钟pump water out，除此之外没啥区别了。Group rescue也是自己爬回去的，不是等
人拉的... |

胖子的故事是这样的（以前讲过，我再啰嗦一遍）：
先在shelter里面，快要被put down时候被一个rescue组织领走了，然后被一个老太太
领养。过了几个月老太太说自己身体不好，没办法照顾胖子了，就把她送回rescue。然
后胖子就去了一个foster家里，那个foster养了5天说胖子晚上总是cry，就把胖子又送
回rescue。因为胖子跟别的猫相处的不好，所以就被关在卫生间里。再后来胖子就来了
我这里。
现在那个老太太又想让胖子回去了，今天晚上6点多rescue的人就来把它接走......好
突然啊，我一点准备都没有，今天我还有课，下课都5点多了，连说再见的时间都没有
！！！！
rescue的人说周六再给我送个calico的猫.......现在十个月大，估计又是个从kitten养起，养大了又被抛弃的猫生悲催故事 |

感觉我们这的和他们说的不太一样，我还以为是因为靠着vet school的原因呢
我们这的spca权利并不大，曾经因为接受外郡的stray cat而被什么committee审核，要
撤销政府funding之类的，还上了报纸说要audit一年，不听话就关门的。好在后来没事
了。不过这也说命我们这shelter还是做了善事的。而且我问过里面volutteer的，也问
了工作人员，没有时限说一定会put down，但是他们也说了，如果crowed，就会开始考
虑外援或put down。我是可以肯定我们这的foster union，也就是non-kill 的rescue
是从里面收猫狗出来的，所以这些rescue不收surrender，只收shelter过渡出去的和他
们自己Trap的，救了的。而且他们这些rescue之间也是相互帮助的，cat rescue的捡了
狗也会foster，然后大家一起找adoption机会。TnR也是和shelter和rescue一起合作的。
年初我们这shelter搬了个大地方，狗狗都有自己的大笼子了，还有外面跑的地方。以

再补充一些我所了解和经历的。
shelter一般是有一个facility。运营靠政府资助和私人捐款。里面有付工资的工作人
员也有义工。狗一般关在facility里。有的shelter是nonkill，有的是kill虽然也许自
己claim是nonkill。如果一个shelter接收猫狗是来者不拒，那么一定是kill的。道理
很简单，他的资源固定就那么点，只能负担一定数目的猫狗。
shelter一般收进猫狗后会做一个健康和性格评估。他们认为不合适领养的会put down
。这个合不合适的标准当然各shelter不同，也因shelter当时有多少空位有关。
shelter一般会有一个表告诉你这只狗性格是否温和，是否potty trained，是否跟小孩
Ok,是否跟猫OK等。这些信息不一定全准，但可做参考。你也可以单独带狗相处一会儿
，也会观察到不少东西。我在shelter做义工是曾帮遛过一只大白熊，还有一只husky。
印象极深。两都特别漂亮，behavior也特别好。真不知道是什么样子的主人会抛弃他们
。最初一定也是纯种买的。不过这种肯定被领养的也很快。

发帖数: 2312 | 28 shelter半年前已经转手给rescue了。lz是从rescue领的，跟shelter没有半毛钱关系。
要送还当然是还rescue。不要复杂化事情。shelter应该是avoid by all means，如果
你不想
狗有put down的risk的话。
至于领养以后的家访回访之类，凭我跟n个shelter和rescue打过的交道，和自己以及身
边多个朋友领养的经历，那是从来没有过的事。总的概率几乎是0。一句话，谁有那个
精力？手上的狗都救不过来。例外就是如果因为狗或主人的原因，case变成high
profile了，一堆人关注了，那就比较麻烦了。
chip info是可以改的。让rescue出面。 |

emotionally可能比lz更需要这只狗。
但是现在最大的问题是，rescue绝对不会还给她。折腾了这么长的时间了，要有一点点
肯还早就还了。lz已经跟rescue沟通过了。rescue的立场很明确。She has no way of
getting it back by legal means.
所以只有三条路：
1：退回rescue。拍拍手背过身，再也不去想这条狗的命运。这样lz和原主都没得到这
条狗。
2：直接让原主接走。两人都不声张，原主也不去fb上braodcase。很大的可能性rescue
不会想到主动follow up。
3：lz留下。原主纠缠就告诉原主根据协议，他没法直接把狗还给她。 |

把自己的感受写下来。我也是个新手，不是自己理解的对不对，请大家指点一下。
doskstar自身的nand有4个分区，mt0,mt1,mt2,mt3. 在任何的系统下
都能看见:
# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00100000 00020000 "u-boot"
mtd1: 00400000 00020000 "uImage"
mtd2: 02000000 00020000 "pogoplug"
mtd3: 0db00000 00020000 "root"
一般刷机只改变mtd0，然后让让它能引导U盘的启动文件。当然你也可以把后面的分区
都改了，比如jeff的rescue system 就是装在mtd2和mtd3里面。
而刷这几个区的方法其实很简单，显示下载mtd0等镜像，然后在下载刷机命令
flash_erase和nandwrite，然后

原文的例证就请给出。至少Appleman的书里提到的rescue可不是陆战队被动的接收逃过
来的7师官兵，而是冒着志愿军的火力在空军掩护下在冰上甚至跨过冰面到达湖东岸救
人，而且救出300多人(全部负伤，一半是重伤)。
3 如果说够得着就不叫救援的话，那么即便陆战队跑到新兴里去也不能叫救援了，因为
既然到了新兴里，也就是陆战队够得着的地方了。同理，但凡救援成功的，都不能叫救
援，因为那都是够得着的地方。
4 无论如何，Appleman的书里就是用了rescue这个词，而大家都知道rescue在正常的英
文里对应正常的中文就是救援。所以，说美军没有其他部队去救援31RCT官兵的说法是
不准确的。你有自己的定义的话请另外标明，毕竟大家不是用你编的词典来阅读的。 |

All 12 boys and their football coach have been found alive after nine days
missing in caves in Thailand, in a drama that gripped the nation.
They were discovered by two British divers on a ledge in a cavern after a
