However, if China really wants to bypass US dollars and promote renminbi,
how come it, China, has not
allowed Taiwan to freely exchange renminbi?
Not just the Chen (Shui-bian) administration could not persuade China to do
that, but the China-kissing Ma
administration also.
Taiwan has trade surplus with China. So there is no such problems of "not

president), Taiwan has wanted to establish a framework to exchange renminbi-
-with US dollars (as opposed to Taiwan dollars) if that is what China
desires. China has always said no--even after the China-kissing Ma Ying-jeou
