从Red Pine Fork向上，去年冬天降雪不少，小溪里的水量很充足

发帖数: 1837 | 21 上周山谷里的温度直奔3位数，于是我们趁着 Pioneer day的长周末进山避暑。这个时
候High Uinta的气温非常宜人，白天60多度，晚上3，40度。比较不爽的是因为今年的
春天多雨，蚊子狂多，天擦黑后基本不要想在外边呆着。我带的一身的雨衣都充当了防
蚊衣的角色。就算这样白天还是被咬了无数的包。:-(
我们这次的目的地是Red Castle Lake,因为据说人会比较少而Red Castle又是整个
Uinta里最上相的山峰之一。去Red Castle Lake有两条路，我和LD都是Alpine Meadow
控，对大片大片翠绿的山坡没有任何抵抗力，所以没怎么犹豫就选择了爬升多1000尺但
景色更好的Bald Mountain Trail. 事实证明山脊上的风景绝对值得多爬这一段。
我们的行程很简单，第一天从Trailhead爬上Bald Mountain Ridge，与Bald Mountain
的顶峰擦肩而过，然后下到Lower Red Castle Lake扎营;第二天从Lower Red Castle

说起Red的领养经过，我真是有够幸运的。我住的是公寓没有大院子，每天要上班，狗
狗每天会独自在家8-9个小时，而且在美国也没养过猫狗（在国内倒是都养过）。准备
领养前别人就提醒我可能会很困难。
我是11月中开始上Petfinder找，想在圣诞前找到。我对breed不是那末挑剔，就想找只
温顺可爱的大狗。我本来看上了一只Golden retriever/CHOW mix, 主要是因为看介绍
觉得特别可怜，那是一只曾被人严重虐待过的狗狗，但被治好了以后还是特别亲人。填
了领养申请，耐心的等了2周，电话面试，再次问了一下我有没有院子，确认后就被拒
了，说觉得狗狗实在需要一个fenced yard活动，而我不能提供一个good home。很伤心
很伤心，虽然我有爱心+遛狗承诺，但买房的打算目前还没有。于是，一度决定先不养
狗了，等以后买房子了再说。
可是后来，一天晚上11点半，我忙完了就想上Petfinder上看看狗狗图片，结果一下子
就看到了Red, 她看起来不是那种可爱型的，但一看就是懂事的狗狗。而且领养费为0！

我的车是2004 honda accord,两年前搬过来的时候做smog check没有任何问题，所以这
次也没有担心。在网上问了大家一下，有位同学推荐了red box（当然，这里没有丝毫
埋怨这位同学的意思），上个周六一早就开过去，希望不用排长队。
到了以后，把DMV的单子递过去，顺便问了一下30000英里/6年的maintenance要多少钱
。报价200，比三年前在dealer那里便宜很多，就决定干脆一起做了。
然后，修车铺的主人建议先做maintenance,再做smog check。对修车没有任何概念的我
自然相信他的判断，毫不考虑就答应了。从后面出的问题来看，如果先做smog check也
许就没有后面这些乱七八糟的事情了。
两个多小时后，smog check没通过（收了$19.95），是OBD II self test有问题，具体
是catalyst 和evaporative system Not Ready。我就顺口提了一下前阵子天很冷的时

虽然有点绕，但是大家的英文多看两遍肯定看的明白。
wai说的是对的，车版激烈讨论过，很多很多人包括我都有一个错误的认识，实际上red
arrow并不是就不能转了，stop后同样可以转，类似红灯+地上的白色转箭头而已。
但是，我个人觉得，开车关系到安全，这个“red arrow”和“red light+地上白色的
右转箭头”相比，没有后者那么清晰，容易让人误解，不太符合很多人，特别中国人的
传统思维。我觉得，大家并不需要勉强，被D没关系，要自己觉得comfortable，心情别
受影响，开车才安全。而且，换个角度看，这样给别人带来的影响并不大，也就是10几
秒到半分钟的事情，又让自己放心，我个人觉得没问题。而换个问题，比如你开限速以
下，还占着left lane，那确实是不厚道的。。。

bull red 扛出 Jetty，满脸的骄傲和满足，那个郁闷阿！ 咱“老中”也要出手一把，

一人扛着竿子们直奔战场。
省去途中不表，本打算照胖哥说的，直接去Jetty最顶头，无奈体力不足，走到一半就
吃不消了，找了个马马虎虎的钓位，支上大中小三根杆子，然后开始了等待。
大概快一个小时没动静，突然间，大竿子（boat rod，30LB）轻点两下，然后一下子就
弯成90度，然后就是“吱吱”的出线声。一计虎扑，双手握紧竿子，用力扬竿，沉，真
他娘的沉。立马骑马蹲裆式，将竿尾压在胯下，左手握杆，右手紧抓摇把，扬竿收线；
大家伙一甩尾巴，直接拉着线跑，差点没把我拉进水里。 竿子稍微斜斜，线擦到我的
胳膊，火辣辣的痛； 太生猛了。 还好我竿粗线结实，一番搏斗下来，虽说精疲力竭，
坐那里喘气， 但是 red 还是被我生擒活捉，哈哈。
