我觉得我们RB问题不是在recruit,而是全方位。首先是Fred Jackson已经老了,教不动
,recruit不动。二是线人要跟上,这估计要到2014-15年我们的OL才能真正跟上。还有
就是playcall,这个老大难问题。RR时代就找V Smith,run inside。hoke时代跑法不
够多样,
太basic,太容易防守。应该大量增加跑功的设计。我觉得Al Borges这一方面不太强,
明年看看他传功设计怎么样。毕竟DR传球不行,制约了他。
RR的recruit真的他nnd差。搞得我们这两年线人depth像纸一样薄。今年的问题其实明
眼人一看就知道,都是OL,特别是OG and Center,被人打爆。对方DT稍微厉害一点的
球队,我们都打不过,包括bama, ND, osu。 |

candidates, esp. if that recruiter wants to build a long term relationship
with the hiring manager/s. The recruiter is performing the initial scan if
you will. Try to make sure you have decent communication skills, better
understand what you look for and get to know you better. Some prefer to
meet, and others may only want to talk on the phone.

不过我想说说有关recruiter的问题,DW Simpson或者大部分recruiter都要求你有绿卡
或公民,他们一般在Monster什么上面看到你的简历,觉得条件蛮符合的,但不知道你
要不要办身份,就会打个电话给你,随便问两句,然后要你在网上填或者email他们一
个questionaire,知道你要办身份就over了。
如果你有身份的话,就不存在上述问题,recruiter会很热心的帮你的。 |

开始有电面了,一点经验都没有,

recruiter现在问的都是些future sponsership, salary expectation, general
education background没有什么专业的问题,顶多就是问会不会PID
control,我就是她问什么我答什么,不知道这样可行否?
另外需不需要扩展,比如说主动告诉她我会什么,我做过什么project?

如果是engineer面试你要不要改变,就不要这样班门弄斧了,只是他问什么我答什么就

I told them clearly that I am only interested in quant positions. But they
continued setting me up for interviews for application engineers even after

己也是刚刚脱离job market,希望大家不再犯同样的错误或者我犯过的错误。
1.太technical的东西没必要列。看到一份韩国人简历,前面看起来还不错,到了后面
,赫然列了会用的SAS PROCEDURE,包括 proc ttest,proc reg之类的,立时对这位申
请人的quality estimate下降了好几度,连这个都列上,是不是说明申请人不strong啊
?我想其他recruiter可能会有同样的反应。
2.突出重点。海量浏览的时候,大概一份简历也就半分钟的时间,如何让recruiter多
花一点时间在你的简历上?个人觉得大家有责任让recruiter把最关心的几点简明清晰
的给出来,一眼看到。我觉得我最关心四点:本科哪里哪年毕业,博士哪里哪年,研究
兴趣和博士导师,第一作者身份发的methodoloy paper。可能还会扫一眼公认的重要奖
项,比如ASA,ENAR,LAHA AWARD。看到有的童鞋甚至把给过的poster都列上,在重要性
上有没有和发给的paper区分开 |

第一轮还好,师兄自己讲PPT,很顺利pass
第二轮跑来做智力题
之后面试的50老中博士问什么商业软件的参数问题,师兄说没用过,学校都是开源自己

后来查查linkedin,原来这货是博士,尼玛生物老博士,博后拿了绿卡先在生物公司干

这解释了一切,转行IT的人都是这个特点,认为编程就是一切; 跟小学生一样背字典
记参数,考到了老师沾沾自喜;经常有外系(物理,生物为主)傻逼过来得意洋洋的,

往下一问理论全抓瞎了,当然也轮不到他们搞,自然有科班的大牛盯着
其实计算机科学比编程大太多了,谁在论文里写code那要被人笑只有本科水平的

背景强了些,再给我申请EB1B。
学校律师给我打电话,说可以帮我申请special recruitment的EB2 PERM,说可以
secure 一个比如说今年12月的priority
date。说这样不需要等待perm的批准时间,会节约10个月左右的时间。以后交140就可
以用现在的12月作为priority
date。

我碰到过两个,一个为我联系mathworks的职位, 虽然但是自己感觉还可以, 但是最
后没搞成。 另一个是为我联系现在这个职位。 我觉得他们的很多建议都是很有帮助的
,虽然并不一定是决定性的因素。当然前提是他们也认为你的背景很符合申请的职位要
求,所以很下功夫提供帮助,希望你的面试能最后得到offer了. 两个人都是看到我
monster上的简历后跟我联系的。 都没有给我的resume和cover letter提建议,可能因
为凭他们经验应该已经跟申请的职位比较match了。
第一个recruiter从电话面试开始给了很多详细的建议,可以感觉他非常有经验。 因为
时间比较久了, 记的不是很详细了, 凭记忆写一些。 比如电话面试一开始互相问候
以后就要开门见山的说明我为什么对这个职位感兴趣,以及简单说下自己的三条符合这
个职位的理由。比如电面最后 |
