另外学校的公共体育课，对大多数小孩，实际上就是大众体育（recreational
sports？）。
swimming team，也有真正 competitive 的 team，和 recreational 的
team 的区别（游泳队之“沉底组”？）。当然，大家都会给个“沉底组”一个
competitive swimming 的名字，那个就是听着好听/看着高兴。。。
其实公园操场上那些踢足球的周末老墨业余足球队，难道不都是 recreational
的 soccer team？PHD 看来是书读太多了，这方面还没有 homedepot 门口
的老墨搞得清楚。。。 |

competition 的界定不同。
我觉得看电影对大部分人来说，就是个 recreation 的事。
当然 recreation 的确常常对 competition 可能也有潜在的帮助，比如 unstructured
learning 就在于两者之间。
但我觉得理论工作者同志们常常发生的问题，是过度解读，导致本来就是 recreation
的事情复杂化到看 documentary 写读后感的层次。老实说这写读后感，也只能用来追
藤校文科专业成为艺术家文学工作者，而不能让一般百姓用来在社会上生存。 |

如果很喜欢孩子也有些天赋
他们自己会觉得recreation不够 想玩更多更好的
自已会提出来要去club tryout
孩子觉着玩玩recreation挺好
那就在recreation待着
不论是哪种
都会有game 都会有集体感 集体荣誉感
都会锻炼sportsmanship 锻炼配合能力 还会facilitate friendship
这些是一般的PE提供不了的
你不就想说我说一套做一套吗
你不就是不相信这世上没有非pushy mama嘛

大烟山萤火虫event是一大特色，每年大概在5月底6月初，peak是两周，event一般
是一周时间。和别处的萤火虫不同之处在于这里的萤火虫不光多，还可以Synchronize
，也就是说萤火虫们可以同时灭灯，亮灯，科学家们对这个现象至今还没有很好的解释
。萤火虫亮灯是交配季节，雄性萤火虫一边飞一边向静止的雌性萤火虫发出信号，然后
此处省略一万字。synchronize不知道是不是有一点要公平竞争的意思。萤火虫卵被产
在地上，幼虫就在土地上生长发育。具体萤火虫的信息：

所以来VA的同学还是很有必要好好学习一下。

见警车救护车来不避让 is a crime in VA
Reckless Driving (Felony or Misdemeanor)

。比如加州，法规条款里只写了不准买卖，并没有说其它类型交易，原文如下，

to sell or purchase any fish or amphibia taken in, or brought into, the
waters of the state, or brought ashore at any point in the state.
貌似以鱼换物没有问题，但其实不一定。
