芝加哥这个地方麻烦一点，因为一要入关而要转机，还要拿一下行李。
飞机停下来，随着大家走长长的路，就到了移民归化局。用很多绳子划出路线来的地方是
给“vistor"的,就是我们这些不是美国公民的人去的地方。排到了你的时候，上前。 不
需要多说什么话。给他护照，i20, i94。然后就等他慢慢的操作，一般都很慢。问你一些
问题，简单如是着答，在这一关没有过不去的，别担心。可能问，你丈夫在干什么，学什
么等等简单问题。它会把你的i20打开，会在你的签证上乱画，然后把i94的一部分定在护
照上。这期间，让你把手指放到一个地方扫描，还要对着一个镜头照相。
放行后，把材料确认拿好，进入取托运行李的大厅了。找到联航的转盘，等行李。这期间
，以及刚才在过关的时候都不需要着急，怕赶不上下一班飞机，航空公司会给你安排好的
。拿出行李，用旁边的免费推车推到大厅靠右的有很多人在排队的地方，等候。这时有人
过来问你行李中有食品么，说没有。然后人家让你往什么方向就往什么方向。这个时候就
自己去找到联航的地方去recheck行李。一看路标，二问，三也有服务人员自动给你支路
的。到了那里，别人叫你把行李 |

their airline’s ticket counter.所谓的connecting baggage desk? 貌似这个是对

are not too long. (unless it happens to have 3+ UA 777 arrivals and their
flight is the last to arrive, then it can be > 500 people waiting and can
take > 40 min standing in the immigration line) Then recheck the baggage
after the customs. Then walk to UA domestic building through the long
hallway and pass through security to domestic gates(may be long lines if
during long weekend/holidays, otherwise 15 min) |

confusing and staff is not very helpful. Your parents need to take train for
connecting flights after international arrival. There are 3 stops depending
on the carrier...Need to be more careful if domestic flight is United as
check in counter is not at where the sign said they are.
We just returned via ORD last week and it was a big mess. We lived in the

mileage award ticket or parent gave UA mileage membership numbers at
ticketing, you can go to united.com to select UA seats for them. If tickets
bought from CA without parent's UA milage membership, you can call UA to

查了一下，网上有人说是这样：
Click on Start
Click Run and type msconfig
Enter
On the window that opens click the tab that is labeled startup
Look for an entry for Lenovo Veriface and uncheck it
Reboot PC
After you log in a window will pop up saying something about configuration,
just check the box and close.
All done, to restore it just go back and recheck the box.
不过又有人说这样也没用，呵呵，似乎uninstall是终极选择

周一从巴黎返回SFO，途径JFK转机入关。
以为要用I797来保住H1B身份，却忘记带了。紧张半天。我运气好，被安排了一个短的
队，窗口官员态度也好，让我扫了指纹，还问有I94么，我解释说已经到处要了，都没
有（CDG和飞机上都没有）。然后说跟我来一下。
我猜这就是著名的小黑屋了。已经有同学说了，其实不是小黑屋，屋子不小，也不黑。
有三个cubical办公，几排椅子，就坐了两人在等。带我来的人问，谁有I94啊，一人应
答说我有，我就被指派到那个人的cubical。出示护照和AP combo卡，这人态度也非常
好。动作很麻利，等我填好，很快在电脑上搞定，手改了我的I94号码。我赶紧问H1B的
问题，他说只要一开始用AP就是这个status了（AOS），不过如果AOS失效（比方雇主裁
员），H1B继续生效。但两个不可以同时用。就是我带了797，也没用。我总算松了口气。
一共不到30分钟。
回来和同事说，结果大家都知道是这么回事。只是他运气不好，从北京回SFO，等了大
概3小时。
但愿大家都顺利AP入关。

时间紧张但是当时没耽搁，入境官效率不错，很多华裔，
提前做好功课下载好机场TERMINAL平面图提前告诉家长怎么找就可以了，尽量别带违禁
品（种子肉类食物）运气不好被人查耽搁时间，行李recheck in的时候注意点，别找不
到地方或是怎样。
实在不行没赶上转机就转迁；
最后，到时候入境到处都是华人，会碰到好心人帮忙的 |

I have been renting two units in this same building since 2007, the original
idea was that the kids would occupy one of them. Nope! :-).
The best would be for the renter to stay till at least next June when the
school ends. After that, it is up to the renter. I plan to keep this
apartment until early 2013. |

刚做了下对比，美联航PEK-Newark-BOS(16.5 hr including stop over time)同样日期
需要$943
不过话说回来，即便价格相同，直飞的优势不能比啊！因为入美第一关必须重新check
行李，对老人很不方遍.
所以，你需要快，直飞，不需recheck in luggage，老人不会走丢(anyway, they will
be somewhere in BOS）的话，海航真不错，而且价格也公道。
唯一希望是它家赶紧加入某个联盟，我辈好用点数兑换。
多说一句，跟其他公司一样，现金买，往返才核算，单程价格相同甚至更高。 |

Adjust the pressure in all the tires in the same way. (Note: If the tires
are warmed up, inflate the tire pressure to 3 psi over the specified amount.)
Recheck the tire pressure with the digital gauge. If the pressure is too
high, press the gauge down just far enough to release some air from the tire
. Check it again.
Replace the valve caps on all the tires. |

本来inspection就贵，而且总是能挑出毛病的
如果第一次不过，一月内或者数mile内在同一地方recheck可以免费或者只收一点点钱
但换个修车铺做就得再交一笔钱，而且还是能继续找出好多毛病
我有辆旧车在外州年年查没问题，在这边一棒子店查也要敲诈1000才过
后来找了个中国人，把查的单子给他，他看了一眼说300刀可以保证我过inspection
不过后来还是把它贱卖了。
另外一辆新车宁愿多花50刀也到dealer那里做inspection，因为还在warranty，
dealer没法坑我。
建议打电话到附近的修车铺，把你现在查的结果给他看，
看能不能估个价保证能过inspection的(一般老美店不愿意)。
否则只能等着被坑 |
