年glassdoor选出来的最好找工作城市排第一 你看看其它各项跟工作创业相关的排名
它都是top 尤其以IT 和生物医学公司最多 Boston 或者 Chicago 这种处于下滑期的城
市前景真不一定更好 除非你想去牛校混资历
教育方面Raleigh 最好的高中排过全美前十 Cary和Chapell Hill的学区都很不错
Chapell Hill的公立学校都能达到私立学校的教育水平 没有差学校 而且很新的学区房
三四十万就能拿下 college就不用说了 如果楼主不confidence能供娃上私立大学 那么
北卡的公立大学比麻省好多了 UNC Chapell Hill 就不用说了 公立大学排名稳居前三
NC state名气不大 但是理工科 特别是计算机 统计 数据这些专业都很牛 就业率甚至
比UNC 和Duke 都高
Boston Chicago这些大城市现在都是人口净流出城市 环境气候差 公共资源紧张 生活

1. Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill的permit可能是所有地方最容易拿的。不过因为当天12点半有Football
game，我们需要考虑提前到10点左右开始，好处是到时候人会非常非常多，而且以
family为主，可能效果会更好；
缺陷是人多会比较混乱，可能大家更对football感兴趣，city council可能会以警力不
足或者和football活动冲突而拒绝我们的申请，停车也可能会比较麻烦
2. Raleigh州政府附近
附近有很多museum，周末带小孩的家庭会不少，ABC电台也有个办公点在附近，距离不
超过半迈，这个是他们的地址Raleigh 319 Fayetteville Street Suite 107
Raleigh, NC 27601 (919) 899-3600。附近停车也方便。还有News&Observer报社也
在附近。
缺点是不知道permit容易不容易拿，需要多久时间办下来；人流量不知道够不够；ABC
周末应该不会有人在。

地点：由于周六Chapel Hill的场地已经被占用了所以无法得到permit，所以基本上就
周六定在Raleigh，具体的时间地点晚些时候就能update，很可能是下午1点左右等到中
文学校下课后开始，位置在州政府附近的草坪。
但我们还是希望周五中午能在Chapel Hill搞一个小规模以宣传和传单为主的活动，为
周六的活动造势和预演。
等消息确定后会有正式的Email贴出，大家可以转发给自己周围的人扩大影响力。
我们也会考虑建一个mail list，给愿意参加的朋友们及时以email的形势更新信息。
Request
1. 由于基本活动就定在Raleigh，我们有没有可能可以找到carpool或者大巴，方便在
Chapel Hill和Durham附近的人去Raleigh。如果找不到大巴我们会建一个google doc来
登记需要Carpool的情况，进行协调
2. 有没有可能大家能发动周围的力量，联系local的议员和官员，得到他们的支持和参

发帖数: 38 | 20 不是想打击你，说实话，3个学校都不推荐。如果你读硕士，第一年没有奖，第二年应
该也不会有。但是也许你可以1年半毕业。
VT没去过，但是那是个小山村，还是不去为好吧---尤其如果你喜欢大城市的生活。
本人是NCSU结构毕业的。多说几句。那个学校的结构实验室不错，在美国可以应该能达
到前10了（有教授跟我说过是前5，具体多少我不清楚）--这个学校的土木主要是靠结
构实验室挣钱。现在那个实验室，已经至少5年不给中国新生全奖了，实验室可以打工
，大概一个小时6-10块钱。因为他们觉得中国人刚去的动手能力不够--也确实如此。
Raleigh的留学生生活是很好的---我到过美国不少地方了，Raleigh生活得性价比我觉
得是很高的（NYC, CA会更好，但是房子太贵）。和别人和住的话，房租250-300/月就
够了。不过北卡结构真的不好找工作，大多数公司只要美国人。而且根据我的经验，你
最好也别想指望会有教授在找工作上能给你什么帮助。教授是牛，不过你不做faculty
，一点用处也没有。

Judge follows suit. The arrests were conducted last October. Multiple people
were blocking sidewalks and refused to move. The back story is here.

Q家在Raleigh的CPU组去onsite过，location的确是差了点，Snapdragon的核心设计团队
其实是从IBM PowerPC那个组出来的20多号人，据说很多都有超过10年以上的经验，是个
非常成熟的设计团队，凭借Q的强大支持前景应该不错～
不过据说旁边的IBM近几年裁员了不少，Raleigh说是城市但是跟大农场感觉差不多～ Q
家的这个site据同实验室在里面的老印说是要疯狂扩张，人数要double，机会应该不错
～ 不过你家LD想在附近找工作就比较够呛了，如果学的是finance方面的，近一点的Ch
arlotte可能有机会，不过开车也得一两个小时吧？
想不到这Q家的这个职位还是招fresh PhD的，看来是我和上次一同去的老印等实力不济

Part 2 of 4: School officials help find Dawn a home.
At most of the homes, she slept on the couch. At one home, she took a
blanket on a carpeted floor.
Couch-hopping, she called it.
That’s how Dawn Loggins, 17, spent the rest of last summer break.
The rising Burns High School senior had spent most of her summer in Raleigh
at the prestigious N.C. Governor’s School among some of the top students

发帖数: 1171 | 46 我在Travel International 买了两张raleigh-shanghai 的往返票。raleigh to
shanghai 的日期是六月19号，返程日期是7月17号， 两个月内有效,帮我出票的是
William。但由於签证没有拿到，需要把机票日期退后，七月14号左右给W打电话，希望
改到8月2号。他说没有这么便宜的座位了，很难改。我提了好多方案，包括改期并加上
fair差额，都会说不行。并答应帮我一直关注，发现一旦能改就通知我。(DALTA 不给
改，应为这票跟AGENT 有合同）。然后一直都保持着联系，大概每半天就同一次电话。
他说他们甚至可以在飞机起飞1小时前改票。我就等着。飞机起飞前一两个小时，我打
电话找W，Agent的人说他已经下班了，问是否需要打电话去cancel票，回答说不知道，
需要问W.（觉得奇怪，取消票不是个常规的过程吗？）第二天电话给W,W说对不起，这
次没有帮上忙，后来说起取消票的事，W说他认为取不取消对我们都是一样的，所以就
没有再给我打电话，我还说“№ show”不好，云云。当时觉得这个agent挺替客人考虑
。就又让他帮我买单程从上海回来的机 |

我的母亲（六十岁左右）要从国内来Raleigh。
因为她不会英语，所以想找个同学同行作伴。
