刚刚上班一个多星期,还在training当中.今天manager约好下午4:00-4:30跟我谈话,让
我汇报一下training的情况.结果下午4点10分的时候,他从MSN上发了一条message过来:
I am stuck in a meeting. 片刻之后,又发了一条过来: Would you make a rain
check for me tomorrow? 我一看,什么是rain check?再一想,莫非是他明天要安排什么
事情,而现在又忙得抽不出空来,让我帮他查一下明天的天气?然后我就去yahoo查了天气
,然后还把明天的天气情况包括温度发给他,还补充了一句:tomorrow is partly cloudy
.然后manager就再也没有反应了.
下班回家,跟LD提起,说我们manager今天居然让我查天气.然后把事情大致说了一下.LD
听了之后大笑,反应之强烈吓了我一跳.大笑之后 |

it's a big deal. What worries me more is probably the wind. Hopefully it's a
tail wind for you :)
45 F is a bit chilly but not too much. I'd say bring a super light rain
jacket. I have one that weighs like 1 or 2 ounces and I wear it on top of
the base layer when I expect some drizzling. |

and the chance of getting a cold. I don't find running in the rain under 50F
to be much fun. But when it comes to training, the most important thing is
to get it done. Fun is secondary.:)

mentality, except you've also take safety into consideration, particularly
when visibility is poor or it's getting too dark.
On the other hand, training in the rain prepare you for tough race day
when it is actually raining. It happened to me twice last year and I only
did 4 races.

But training in the rain or on wet ground does provide you the experience in
a possible bad race day. Your body is wet anyway but your feet barely get
wet if you only train in a good day. |

as if he is trying to jog, but he was struggling just to walk. He pumps his
arms and shuffles his legs slowly, could barely lift his legs, at no faster

因为你将桶倒过来，底朝上，又没有桥接管，估计进水时，空气
出不去。其实只要在上面打个小洞就可以了。觉得1/8"就够了。
一是空气可以压缩，二是跑气比流水快。
对于滤网，好像是兜在外边。这样有重一点儿的或尖一点的东西，比如
屋顶瓦片上的细沙子，或是小树枝，都容易破了你的滤网。最好还是
拿更坚固的，比如铁网。另外也没必要裹着雨水管，因为除了下雨天，
管子里基本没有水存着。裹上了，反而不利清理。
我看到有人用一个小桶，放在rain barrel 上。桶跟rain barrel 是通的。
桶底部铺上几层滤片(比如类似洗碗用的硬海绵)。雨水就直接排进小桶中。
这样既容易清理，大雨时，水也不容易溢出。 |
