currency company First Meta, has died according to Douglas Abrams, the
company’s director and non-executive chairman.

发帖数: 39120 | 11 曾以创建「中式英文」博客（博客）www.chinglish.de而声名大噪的德国人Oliver Radtke讲过一个有关「小弟弟」的故事。他说，第一次到中国，在上海的出租车上发现一句提示「请带好随身物品」，下面一行的英文「Don't forget to carry your thing.」。这句从中文直译的句子初看没有什么不对，但实际上在英语语言文化中表达的意思却是，提醒男性乘客「别忘了带走你的『小弟弟』」，让人啼笑皆非。只要在thing后面加上一个s，就可免除这种尴尬。
同样的尴尬事，在上海的地铁内也曾遇到。例如，「先上后下，文明乘车」翻译成「After first under on, do riding with civility」；「如遇紧急情况请速拨打1234567」译为「Meeting critical situation asks velocity to poke striking …」，几乎就是中文直译，让人不知所云。

人很有限，到2020年，全球讲英语或学英语的估计20亿人中，母语为英语者将只占15%
。事实上，现在的英语交谈，已有一大半是使用洋泾滨。
中国估计有3亿人(相当美国人口总数)会读写英文，可是缺少口语练习机会，正宗英文
老师又少，更助长洋泾滨英文发展。
这种情况可能导致愈来愈多口语英语，变得愈来愈像中国话。中国人和其他亚洲人的英
语发音，已有各种微妙和显著不同。
在中文语法影响下，英语文法特有的一些附加字词(例如在问句前面加do或did)可能消
失，某些名词不加複数的习惯也会被忽视，中文句子不需要主词的习惯，也可能使一些
英语显得没头没脑。
由于人多势众，中国势必出现自成一格的英语。广告人一定会藉机发挥，台湾即已出现
这种风潮。这也将成为一种文化身分，就像香港艺术馆去年举行「不中不英」中式英语
展。电影、音乐、游戏和书籍也会广泛使用。有一天甚至连学校都可能开始教这种英语。
最后的局面，不是中式英语与「标准」英语并行，而是中式英语将与任何其他英语一样
取得「正宗」地位。
