Don't worry about raquetresearch.com, they don't make too much sense anyway.
Buying a racket is not like going to graduate school, NO1 ranked Harvard is
certainly better than Ohio college. Most sticks on the market are pretty good.
Even you just pick up a prince Force 3 for $40 from a local sports shop, it is
pretty good most people. Work on the swings, that is more important! Once you
are on Prostaff's level, racket does matter some time. But just "some time"

I think the key thing for a racket( for intermidiate to advanced player, or
serious players) is:
Heavy racket, (100% graphite is the best)
Head light (actually those hefty raqs, like Prince OS, Wilson Prostaff does
not feel heavy when u swing them, bc the head light balance)
Low Power Level
These above three will be less forgiving but definitely good for your
shoulder, elbow, and increase your game.

I did. Hehe, when i was in my university, i broke strings like every 3 days.
Although i can get some string from my university, that is not enough for me.
I just bought a whole wheel of nylon string about 500 meters,
which is for deep sea fishing. I got this from the top 1 varsity in china.
The only difference is, i just use one piece of them in one hole.
But that guy strung his rackets with 2 pieces per hole.
So acturally, his rackets is very strange, but last really longer, around 3-5

Yonex may be not as good as you expected.
The sweet spot is small, the grip design is the worst I ever met ( got me
blister on the thumb). The only thing now I reflect that so many people say
it is good for girls lies in the power of the racket. (precisely, i mean even
a slow and short swing can hit the ball back anyway).
A racket made in japan does not seem better at all.

to create a topspin you don't have to hit the top of the ball.
most of spins ( top, side, back) come from off-center hit. for example, when
you're serving a topspin, your racket moves mostly up-forwards before it
reaches the highest point when your arm and racket are straight in line,
therefore, the force transmitted to ball will be up-forward. forward force
gives the pace, upward one brings the topspin. sure, during contact the ball
sinks into the springbed, springs bite the ball and give it ext

Even if you are not a frequent string breaker, you also should have several
rackets.
Brad Gilber suggested in his book "wining urgly" that you should at least have
3 rackets. One strung with normal tension, one tighter one looser. So if you
have some perticular control or power problem at that game, you can do a
little ajustment.

I tried western/semi-western, but my fingers hurt the next day, maybe the
grip is too thick for me. However, using eastern, as long as I have a clear
feeling of the position of the racket, I can still hit with racket face
closed.
Using the left hand to help with changing grip is quite useful, and looks
pretty cool as well. :-)

that's interesting point. although i am noy sure "from fast to slow" is
referring to just service or point construction and whether it is correct
for either tennis or tabletennis, if you are speaking of serve, it is one of
the approaches neglected by tennis amateurs in developing their serves.
both pace and spin need racket speed. when you can not improve the racket
speed anymore, you have to mix pace and spin, disguise and place the ball
well. some friends always want to improve the pace and se

Most pros today are still using old tennis rackets paintjobed to resemble
whatever latest model their sponsor is trying to sell to their viewers.
Federer for the longest time used the PS 6.0 85 - made famous by Sampras.
He later switched to a 90" model and eventually Wilson adopted the K90 based
on his specs -- which is about as traditional as you can get. This is
repeated with other pros. It's also very well documented that Joker's
racket is actually a *HEAD* frame with a Wilson paintjob (W

1. you will know in 90% of time if your opponent is pusher when he pulls out

2. how to beat pusher? - step forward and return his serve, use semi/

3. Don't try to out run your opponent. go to the net more than you used to
be. drop shot + over head is little better than left-right drill. keep in
mind that they seldom has winner.

But I switched to use thinner mains (18 poly), and it felt absolutely

Definitely a good racket for serving as well (the mid one anyway - i never

to be sure, I think you worry too much. Just pick up any cheap/expensive/
whatever racket and play. If she has never played before, it doesn't matter
what she uses.
Once she has built some power, and starts to play very often, and actually
develops a style. OK, now maybe think about how to tailor her equipment to
her particular style of game. Also, racket is just 50% of the equation -
your STRING selection is just as important.

Well it's just a misconception that changing racket is the only significant
way to alter you game... The truth is that changing string setups can have
an even more drastic effect on the characteristics of your racket.
The same frame can feel very different with 2 different string setups. If
there aren't any "hard" limitations to the frame - like you have a 110" but
you *really* prefer a 90", or yours is really really stiff, but you love the
feel of a very soft frame - then yea, time to explore

But my point was, even the pros have extreme variations - from low 40s to 70

It's pretty well documented that the K90 is the ACTUAL spec that Federer
uses. While most top pro do customize their racket, there's nothing secret
about it - you can customize your racket too by changing weight

That racket doesn't fit you. For beginners any racket would do

buy something more serious.
For example, you may pick up Wilson nCode n5 Oversize, which is

是Sledge Hammer 6.3是head heavy, K90是head light的缘故吧.杠杆原理,拍子轻但是

That's not too much difference. I was thinking you might have
an oversize Head.
Other aspects to consider:
1) string tension - a tighter string helps the control and accuracy
of serve
2) string - a good string improves the spin and accuracy of serve
3) string pattern - open pattern improves the spin and accuracy
of serve
4) racket weight - this hardly has any effect, you just need to
get use to it.
5) technique - the most important aspect. You should be able to
serve well using any racket if you

找了一下,我觉得这个比较靠谱。
1) Swing your racket behind you, keeping your wrist angled back so that it's
roughly perpendicular to your forearm.
2) Stroke the ball from low to high. To aim the ball crosscourt, make sure
your wrist is still angled back as the racket makes contact with the ball.
3) Follow through. As you hit the ball, rotate your shoulders so that they
are square with the net and transfer your weight to your front leg.

Brush the top of the ball forward.
The idea is to keep the ball trajectory flatter, less moonball-like.
If you hit the frame, it means either your racket head speed is

No, what you are talking about is the bumper guard. I was talking
about the grommet, the little tube that holds the string so
that it won't touch the racket directly. Once those things got
broken, the string will cut into the racket and break very soon.
They are made of crappy plastic and become very crispy after 20
