University，南流汇入Long Island Sound. 官方下船点在Quinnipiac
Av.和Clifton 的交界口，有个小小的停车场。此处刚巧在一座钢桥上游，
河面广阔，denovo看来看去，总觉得我们的充气船在这河面上定然显得
分外渺小。水性又不大好，有点不习惯在比我自己深的河里划船，总觉得
简直几乎一定会翻，翻了以后就简直几乎一定会沉下去。
主席站在我这一边，虽然我很怀疑其实他的心里也在发抖，因为他根本就
不会游泳，但是他的理由总是冠冕堂皇的：这河面太开阔，没有树木荫蔽，
好没意思，还是在小河上比较有情调。denovo抓住了救命稻草，连连点头，
又振振有辞地说你看大家都没戴墨镜帽子防晒霜，还穿着短裤，会晒破皮
的。小叶同学说：现去买啊。denovo当场晕倒。
终于大家还是决定不要为难denovo同学，坐上了车准备考察其他地方。这
时候主席终于说出了心里话：“这地方看起来可真挺深的，别划出去回不
来了。”（大意，呵呵）
不过官方的下船点虽然只是在岸上观望了一下，非官方的一个点 |

的时候，去Sleeping Giant爬山，回来的路上经过山脚下的那弯小溪。是
时阳光明媚，自树顶穿过婆娑的枝叶，投射在微波荡漾的水面上，水质清
冽，一株倒伏的大树横跨两岸，水中有鬼哥鬼妹嬉戏，言语虽不得甚解，
笑声却是听得明明白白的。此后著名的hiking club（哈哈）每周例行活动
又常包括到溪中洗脚等娱乐，在尝试过了Mill River以后，这里就自然成
为我们划船运动的下一个目标地点了。
到了那里才知道，这里还是Quinnipiac River的上游，水清且浅，并不适
于划船运动的开展。起先在那横跨水面的大树下游，其时我不在，听说是
刚下水不久，帮主他老人家就亲自下水拉纤，因为船太沉，挨到了水底。
后来想起上游有一个小小的水坝，水坝再上面或许可以行船，于是再去的
时候就扛了船，分花拂柳地往上面去了。
经过那个小小小水坝，是一片平静的水域，走不多远，就有一个小小小
沙滩。再往上游，谁也不曾去过，主席兴奋地扔了鞋，手一挥，指明了
前进的方向：溯源。 |

过的，纽黑文人民正在呼吁清理Quinnipiac河上的污染源了。不过这里的
感觉倒不是工业或生活污染，只觉得分外肥沃。还有鬼子带了一家子大大
小小的孩子在这里泡澡，主席点评：鬼子确实不怕脏。
沙滩的对面那岸都是淤泥，生了密密的水草。仔细看时，水草外竟还有小
小的睡莲叶子漂着，开出玉白的花来。又有象极了芋头的植物，开着嫩黄
的小花，到最后也没有人弄清楚它到底叫什么。前些天在网上逛，发现这
花竟也开在Alaska，有照片为证（引自art@travel board, mitbbs）：
所谓名花倾国两相欢，美女见了花自然分外欢喜，睡莲离水草太近，船划
不过去，同船的mm就想靠近小黄花。方才伸手攀摘，忽然大叫一声缩回来，
全船人一半惊吓，一半担心，都慌得乱动，险些翻了船。后来才知道，原
来是花心里长了小小的虫子，呵呵。

把我吓了一跳，定了下神，才敢说：其实是三条。
不听不知道，一听吓一跳。纽黑文居然四面临水：南面是长岛湾
不必提，北面的小河唤做Quinnipiac River，绕着睡美人山(sleeping
giant)蜿蜒而下，一路南来入海。那甘甜的河水养育下，Quinnipiac
University培养出了一批又一批的青年才俊。——河水甘甜不甘甜
我其实不知道，只知道在河上游划船时，虽然水顶多没至小腿，大家
却都小心谨慎，惟恐落进了水里去。纽黑文许多有识之士也一直奔走
呼吁，要求保护Quinnipiac，清除污染源，还民众一条清洁美丽的
河流。想象那在河中划船时，一兴起就能翻身入水而不惧腥臭的美好

少批评和抗议。但还是有很多美国民众表示川普的政策令他们感到安全。近期民调显示
，近半美国选民支持川普的移民行政令。
据昆尼皮亚克大学（Quinnipiac University）的民调网站报导，在一项对全美899名选
民的调查中，昆尼皮亚克大学的研究人员发现，有48%的选民支持“暂停来自恐怖势力
地区的移民”。
调查还表明，还有更大比例的选民表示，他们支持“要求来自穆斯林国家的移民在美国
联邦政府进行登记”，这部分选民占53%。
川普移民政策支持者：“我感到更加安全”
CNN的报导称，对于川普的移民政策，全美还有很多人感到“更加安全”。
田纳西州萨凡纳（Savannah）市的退休人士瑞亚（Dotty Rhea）说：“我确实感到更安

网友说起她们的校友徐海燕在唐山潘家口水库潜水探测水下长城失踪时，我还一点不知
道她是谁。
几天后，忧心忡忡的寒武纪网友pqwer说徐海燕是古典版的chord/denovo，感慨新生代
的未名已无人认识或记得她。古典版我也灌过，好奇之下查询版面，找到这俩id最早的
帖子在1999年，最晚2006年，比我早了几个地质层。99年的那个帖子说她小脑发育晚，
小时候拿笔都发抖。直到高二才开始练书法，一年后竟得了奖。可惜上大学后没再练。
她妹妹初中开始练，现已是书法协会会员。帖子标题是长大后练毛笔也不晚。看来这是
位善良、勤奋而要强的mm。

本报记者荣筱箐纽约报道：昨（27日）公布的昆尼派克（Quinnipiac）大学最新民
意调查显示，几位民主党热门候选人中市议长柯魁英的支持率继续上升，远远高于其他
人，而主计长刘醇逸的支持率与上次相比保持不变，且仍然排在最末位。但这次民调也
揭示了一个令人失望的现象：即使在纽约这样多元的城市，大部分人还是不愿意少数族
裔来当市长。
这份调查在2月20日到25日间对1017名纽约选民进行问卷，问及被调查者对目前几
名市长热门候选人在2013年参选的看法。结果发现37%的人表示将投票给柯魁英，比1月
份作出的上次民调上升两个百分点，高于其他几名民主党热门候选人支持率的总和。这
也使柯魁英的支持率接近40%大关，候选人只有得到40%以上的选票才能避免第二轮重选。
