passat or a4的hub直径大概5inch，只能自己加工个大cup，还得去machine shop。后
来去sears买了个1 foot长 5/8粗的all thread rod, 然后从别的junk machine上弄了点
东西，拼凑了这个hub puller,加上HF那一套应该work了。 |

俺的类似于这个puller house，主要作用是把hub从bearing里面拔出来,cup是压上去用
的，按已经order了hf那套，那一套有好几个cup，应该能用来把hub压进去。把bearing
从knuckle拔出来也是一样的原理。 |

发帖数: 2896 | 8 耗时一个半小时（表笑我），主要时间花在撑车上。自己换油以后感觉7500 mile换一
次全合成，一年也撑不了两次，实在没必要买floor jack。
花费共计69$：
lug wrench 12$
grease gun 12$
3x 3 oz grease 6$
tie rod end 20$+tax
tie rod end puller 15$+tax
其中仅tie rod end和3oz grease用掉了。相当于24$，其他工具就归我了，嘿嘿。几年
前在修车铺换过另一边的，150$ for parts and labor。
过程和 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv5zpAsn2FE 里的差不多，就不多说了。其中用puller还是没有想象的顺利，要把puller的螺丝拧很紧tie rod end才能拔出来，害得我拧上-松开了几次，以为自己哪里弄错了。
换过之后药到病除，转方向盘不响了。方向盘好像轻了一点，也许是心理作用。拆下来
的原厂球头看起来一点也没坏，就是油干了。外球头离刹车近，经常受热，而且风吹雨
淋的，13年油也该干了。换上的新球头是gre |

1. Replace 2 boots for Steering Rack & Pinion.
2. Replace second tie rod.
3. Replace Muffler
4. Replace control arm bushing.
时间：周六加周日两个下午。
上次更换过Tie rod，这次换另一边要熟练多了，这一次从Autozone借了Tie rod
puller，因为要把上次换的也卸下来好装新的Rack & Pinion Bellow/Boot. Tie rod
puller比Tie rod separator好使多了而且不伤Tie rod的boot. 支车，卸轮，卸Tie
rod，一切都很顺利。到装好了右侧的新Boot和Tie rod，用时大概四十分钟。接下来，
卸了左侧的Tie rod和旧boot,又过了两个小时以后新的Boot还没有装上，比起右侧的来
手能活动的空间太小了，Control Arm和Transmission都去掉的话可能装着会容易些。
在寒风中冻得够呛，只好收拾工具。
周六每完成任务，回家到网上查了换Boot的经验介绍，有人提议用两个尖嘴 |

拧， 没成功．
今晚回家准备试一下你的方法，每隔半小时喷一些PB Blaster．用pitman arm puller
可以吗？还是非要用ball joint separator?
我用ball joint separator，不过由于ball join已经坏了，所以ball joint和control
arm之间的空隙比较大了 |

么使，后来又回去autozone让人家教我怎么用，就是一个滑动的坠子，后来又拿回来，
使劲几下子就弄下来了，车当时也是12年的老车了，锈得不成样子。
关于你说的砸这个shaft会有什么问题， 我个人觉得好像还好，因为我印象中把wheel
bearing拿下来以后，那个shaft是非常的活络，上下左右前后好像都可以动，也就说明
你砸的并不是一个固定死的东西，不会太伤到它连接的部件。欢迎指正。 |

没其它方法。 那是一套买的，不便宜。不建议用几个勾子那种以拉风页方式去拉， 你
没有经验，很容易搞坏风页（变形）。不过如果你有把握的话，可以买单个便宜的那种。
另外个选择就是把风扇页一起换掉，价格应该便宜过买hub puller. |

the puller in place, tighten the bolt so you put some pulling force on your
rotor, spray penetrating oil between the matching surfaces, then you should

1， 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 drive wrench + socket, 外加
combo wrench, 最常用的。这里你就能感觉到差别，如果在一个很小
的缝隙里紧螺丝，好的wrench会省很多力。俺有个1/4的stanley
wrench，比我那个套工具里的破wrench好用多了。另外，日本车基本
上都是10mm,12mm,14mm这3个套筒用的最多。基本上mounting都是14mm
，调整和小的固定螺丝都是10mm。最好有两个以上extension bar，
因为engin舱里实在空间小有时候需要extension出来拧。
2， breaker bar，用来松crankshaft pulley bolt，说实话，
这个bolt没有想象中那么困难。
3， 螺丝刀，最好有长有短，
4， 2－jaw puller，用来把crankshaft pulley从crankshaft
上拉下来。
5， jack and stand, 另木板若干，如果size不好就准备个锯子
6， 最好有个能 |

要准备好了，难的不是卸steering knuckle, 也不是正面的四个
螺丝，也不是反面的四个螺丝，也不是caliper braket的两个
螺丝，那个spingdle nut如果有足够长的break bar估计也不在
话下，外加2个ball joint,1个tie rod end joint,都是小菜
（要用autozone 借的;puller啊）。。。。
。。。。。NND,到底要准备啥呢：
分离knuckle 和 hub unit !!!
没办法，roter在两者之间，必须分离这两个东东，手册没有列专门
工具分离，当然DIYer也不会有什么好的工具。。。万般无奈之下，
唯一可行办法就是：把两者吊起来拼命敲打roter,具体就是一人拿住
knuckle的脖子，另一人把roter往死里敲打：连接的原筒只有一面
可以敲打，所以还必须roter两边都打，直到兄弟俩肯分开，
结果是把活生生的roter敲裂了条缝。。。反正是换roter，
所以敲碎了也不怕，赫赫。。。
这个难度有8级，如果10级最高的话，所以DIYe |

发帖数: 21 | 37 94 v6 xle，年初就发现两边的boot都烂了，一直没空动手，就拖到了现在。今天好不容
易是个好天，拉了个朋友从上午一直折腾到下午。
零件和工具：从autozone买的cct翻新的drive alxe，69块一个。质量还过得去，里面有
详细的tech tips，不过不带cotter pin，买轴的时候别忘了稍上一盒assorted sized。
顺便再借个30mm的soket和tie rod puller。一罐brake cleaner。
拆卸：手册上讲axle nut是217 ft
lb，挂上手刹，前轮打好眼，用了个三尺多的1/2break bar晃了几下就打开了。值得指出
的是这个车inboard joint是用六个螺丝和side gear shaft（左边）和intermediate
shaft（右边）固定上的。手册上讲要把它们拆下来再分离，否则会很难装回去。实际上
根本没有那么困难。完全可以只拆六个螺丝。螺丝拧掉后还要钻到下面再joint cover边
上稍微敲一下才会完全分开。
安装：买来的轴outboard
joint是装好的，inboard只把subassembly装 |

润滑油全流出来了，黑黑的洒得到处都是。
打算DIY把CV joint axle换掉。
因为经常DIY，基本工具都有，在网上订了一个25"的break bar，20刀。
另外还定了一个CV joint axle，大概55刀.
还从local 店买了一套前刹的break pad，
一个wheel hub assembly (担心wheel bearing也坏了)
到时有必要顺手换上。
估计还需要一下一些工具：
1) 30mm加长套筒，用来卸wheel hub的螺丝。
2) bearing puller，如果换wheel hub，需要用。
3) 一种鱼叉形的工具，不知道名字，用来卸lower control arm的.
打算精心准备两周，larbor day的长周末动手，之后来报告并贴pp。
各位有经验的帮忙看看，有什么要注意的吗？
